It's actually 20% more life out of the tires, not 25% :)
Hm can you explain to me? I’ll admit if I’m wrong but I like to know why :).
If I have 1 tire > 2 tires that’s a 100% increase.
2 tires > 3 tires is a 50% increase
3 tires > 4 tires is a 33% increase
4 tires > 5 tires is then a 25% increase no?

that was my thought process anyway haha whether it be right or wrong

5. Because after a few rotations of not, you're stuck with an unusable 5th tire.

So Multicam you lost your plastic center cap thing????? Boy how dumb is that....oops..........
Well my story is, I thought for a moment when I removed my spare, that those idiots at the dealer last tire rotation lost my plastic cap off my spare, when I was changing my tires for the first time last month. I didn't realize that for the spare, you have to REMOVE the plastic cap so it will fit on the spare tire carrier. Dummy me........

Great advise, though, how much are they?
Yeah I didn’t lose one, it’s just more of a pain to do the tire rotations without an extra one. I haven’t actually bought one yet... every time I do a tire rotation I kick myself for not buying one yet

I normally do a 5 tire rotation. I go by this reference on the right.

I think it goes more like this. At any point in your 5-tire rotation, you're "resting" one of the tires, or 1/5th of your tires. Which is 20% of your tire inventory. Yes you have 25% more tires if you count all 5, but the reduction in use is more like 20%.

That's the part that's easy to overlook. When it's all said and done, you end up with one tire that could still go one more round, but no practical way to use that last bit of tread on that one tire.

It's still better than ending up with a 100% new tire that isn't going to match whatever you put on next time. Another factor a lot of people overlook is that tires have a shelf life. Just sitting on a shelf in a climate-controlled warehouse, tires eventually degrade to the point of being useless.

Have always rotated all 5 tires at 5,000 mile intervals since new. My Cooper STT Pros take a beating out on the dirt. After some 23K miles on this set, all 5 are wearing evenly. Installed the said after 14K miles on the OEM KO2s.

Great info.. I will do all 5 just for the fact I may want bigger tires when need replaced. I'm already on 35's on my 21 and can definitely see 37's in next 50K miles

Same as VAJeeper. 5 tire at each oil change (done myself). I do mine every 5K.

Every 5K at the most or 6 months, which ever comes sooner.
my 2019 Jeep has 9500 miles, it’s used regularly it just doesn’t go far.
