Have any of you printed (pre-2024) vent covers?

I have some I like -- they sort of curl around the inside and outside of the four front vents (instead of just sticking flat to the fronts) but they're blue, and I'd like black. I used Plasti-Dip, but it's peeling since we adjust the vents. Online sets are $15-$25, and it looks like most are those thin ones which leave the interior and exterior sides exposed. I thought maybe one of you 3d printer pros might have some + a link to your etsy (or whatever) shop.

made a 25mm x 13mm bump stop for my DV8 rear molle panels to keep them from rattling against the roll bar at the front. You can use/tweak for whatever; uses an M4 socket head bolt, a M4x6 heat set insert, PETG, and TPU.

More 3d designing/printing fun for Jeep ducks. A "no tape" secure dash display.

Had some time over the holidays, so I designed some add-ons to my no-tape/friction fit duck holder. This brings the capacity to 10 ducks. I realize ducks aren't for everyone, but I know my wife really enjoys the whole thing.

That's pretty slick. You could do multiple different colors even.

If you don't mind, I'd make a suggestion for a slight change. Instead of a 90 degree splice, how about a lap joint. As in, see white line...

I agree. The bolt going through both pieces will prevent any kind of gap opening up from temperature changes.

I appreciate your recommendations guys. This was my first time that I looked into 3D printing, and in order to get to this I had to learn some basic Autodesk Fusion and print a couple of sample models in order to get the final design to work. Then found a local company who 3D printed them for me.

I have already printed 50 pieces (to cover all 5 wheels plus 10 extra) sanded them by hand, primed them and raptor coated them. So for the time being I will keep them as they are, but will keep your suggestions in mind for any future projects.

No worries man. Just a suggestion, definitely not a "do this or it'll never work."
If that's your first go at 3D modeling and printing, solid job. Matching diameters and hole locations on a diameter is no easy task without some somewhat specialized measuring tools.

Not sure if this is quite what you're looking for, but i printed one of these for the driver side of the defrost vents. It works pretty dang well. The snaps need to be tweaked a little bit, sometimes my sun shade will knock it off. Super easy to put back though.

Cheers mate! Yeah somehow a managed to make it work using mostly a ruler, and cardboard modelling. However when it came to aligning the holes I had to give a bit more wiggle room than the actual bolt size.

Designed a Rocklight Mount that utilizes the existing/unused threaded hole just under the driver side & passenger doors. I wanted a courtesy light to assist stepping into the jeep on dark nights when on uneven ground/rocks. For the 12v source I tapped into the driver's side footwell lighting. It has a "soft" ON/OFF and comes on when remote unlocking or manual opening of the doors.
