Yes, the key is pulled fork the factory fob, and the guts of the fob along with buttons are installed into the new keyfob. I printed that one for him, the color turned out pretty well I think for a Stong Gray match.

Yep, key is from original fob.

Could be slightly darker, but honestly I like it as is. My wife has taken notice of it, she likes it also.

I finally got around to getting somewhere on this. thanks for posting your keyfob, that was super helpfull to be able to modify it and make it work for me. I took your latest and modified it for the base sport model with manual locks, beacuse i dont have any buttons on my fob. and i also wanted a cool looking key so i made a jeep silhouette key. i dont have an account to post it in thingiverse or makerworld. here are the STL files in the zip folder if anyone wants them...
