I got the engine block heater option on my 392, but hadn’t looked for it until today. It was quite the hunt for that plug. I saw the diagram provided by Mopar, but it didn’t help me find it:

Based on that diagram, I thought the plug was probably on the left side of the engine. I looked all over the left side by the battery, etc… couldn’t find it and gave up thinking they left it off. I was apparently wrong.

Later in the day I looked on the right side of the engine, and found what I believe is the block heater plug- see the coiled cord on the left with a tag on it, and the plug (with covered prongs) directly below the tag :

Given that, I suppose I do have it. Living in south Florida though it'll basically be just a decoration LOL. I got it in case we ever sell the 392 or move up north, might be a good thing to have. But have NO plans to sell this awesome Jeep. Love it.

Interestingly this doesn’t appear to be an option for the 2022 392 models.

For whats it's worth, on my June ordered/October delivered 21 Sport 2.0 turbo I ordered the $85 heater from the factory. On my Dec ordered 22 I was told the block heater is no longer a factory option, but can be installed at the dealer.

My question is, it almost looks like it just fits in a pocket, held by one screw, rather than being in direct contact with the coolant.

Anyone put one in any of the engines?

I just figured everyone that paid $80k+ for one would be parking it in a garage.

I've noticed its not on the 3.6 builds either. It was one of the last options to buy.
I've always gotten it on any ordered vehicle in the past, not really worried about it on my next jeep.
The GM ones I had just replaced a freeze plug. Not sure where these go, you would think in water.

I have had a block heater on basically every vehicle I have ever owned. Even up here in Canada, there isn't too many places you need to use it regularly in the winter. My vehicles have always started, even when C° and F° meet on the thermometer. (ya, it gets that cold for a few days where I am). When I lived in Alberta, it would get used a bit more often but normally pretty good.
