37s & Regrets?

I ran with a guy this summer in a Gladiator with 40s and a 4.5 lift. That sucker was massive! I really have no desire to go that big. I like my 18.7 MPGs as a daily driver, and I can climb about anything that my skills will handle.

37 is the perfect sweet spot for road/Offroad.

I average 10.1 on 35s but that is better than my TRX or my AMG which were my last 2 vehicles before this one. I kinda feel like a tree hugger now.

I have 37” KO2’s with a Mopar 2” lift on a JLUR diesel. I have about 9 badges of honor but mostly it’s a daily driver. I am really happy with the ride. I was worried it would be rough or bouncy but frankly it’s fabulous as a daily driver. I have done quite a few class 6 trails in Moab and several others in Colorado (Metal Masher, Poison Spider, Engineer’s Pass, etcetera). I have a little over 30k miles and I’m pretty happy.

Stock axles? Trussing? I want to go 37s on my JLURD, but don’t have the cash for a full ud60 upgrade yet, and I’d rather not dump money into an axle I know I’m not going to keep long term (1-2yrs). We’re gearing up for a trip to Moab this summer and a free other trails/jeep jamborees along the way.

I LOVE my 37s. I'm on stock axles and gearing, and might strengthen the axle, Cs, and drive shaft. But so far it's doing fine on difficult trails.

I think 37s are the perfect look, 40s are cool too, but a little large for my type of wheeling, and too much has to be upgraded for them to be stable.

Yes I have stock axles and no extra trussing on my Rubicon diesel and it is very capable (more capable than I imagined). I recommend you look up the Red Rock 4x4 club (see https://www.rr4w.com/) for Moab trips. They have a great Easter Jeep event if you can make it.

I've got 39's on 3.73's on our sahara 4xe and it wants for nothing in terms of torque or HP. Still pulls like a freight train, and has way more get up and go than my 3.6 JT with 5.13's on 37's. Personally would not spend my money on a re-gear for the 4xe as it just doesnt need it IMO.

Does that hold true when the battery for the electric motors are empty? There's a noticeable impact to torque in our PHEV when there is no juice in the batteries.

I don't regret 37" tires, but if I were to do it over again I think I would go straight to what my next set up will be. The same 2.5" Gamechanger lift, gutting the stock fenders, and adding a set of AAL inner fenders; then going with a set of 39" KM3s. The 392 with 4.56 gears would have plenty of power to turn them without regearing.

What do you mean by gutting stock fenders? I'm going with a 4.88 with the 2.5" MC Gamechanger and figure just upgrading the coil and new wheels/tires if I am unhappy with the 35s.

Even at <1% showing there is actually 15% or so left that the hybrid continues to use for accleration. It's confirmation bias you are noticing, not actual loss of performance. If you run back to back 0-60s you'll notice no actual loss of performance. There are videos out there confirming it.

With 39s you'll have a lot more gas engine help for sure than stock tires, but I rarely use pure electric mode anyways and prefer to get the full HP/tq.
