I’m afraid if I go from 35s to 37s I am REALLY gonna get radical, and damage my Jeep on obstacles. 35s keep me honest and less damage-prone. Sorta.

It takes a little work to run 37s on a 2-door, if you want to do it right. I just bought a 2025 2-door Rubicon a little over a month ago and have been collecting the parts to run 38s. I have a set of 37" Cooper STT Pro tires mounted on Method Bead Grip wheels in my shed though, so initially the 2-door will be shod with 37s.

If you are even thinking of 37s, just do it. As much as the parts cost, it will be more if you do 35s first, and then 37s. Been there, done that, too many times.
Wow! Merry Christmas bro!

I didn’t even notice all the boxes. He’s got next venture, Metalcloak and teraflex! Making me wish I managed my money like you guys!

Heading out to get some pho and order my Mickey Thompson Baja Boss ATs! Also @Flip where can I get that awesome intake you have?
That's just a cheap snorkel off Amazon, $109. It was really experimental to try and lower engine temps. It did, but very little. Maybe 2 degrees. I have no intentions of going into water that deep.

I'm looking forward to seeing those tires. 👍

If you dont have a lift you might not have the space to flex them.

b/w 37 is always the right answer lol

This is my 37 sitting on stock '21 4Xe

Thats the gap on the rear, it rubs getting on my driveway. no rubbing on the interstate or going to the mall though.

My lift is sitting in the garage, waiting to be installed.
Great-looking rig. 👍Once you have your lift on you will be set....until your next upgrade. 😂

I see more guys wishing they did 37s out of the gate more than I see satisfied guys on 35s. Not that big of a leap really. As long as you’re aware of what going up in tire size brings with it, and it sounds like you do, then there’s nothing to worry about….just saying….
Love my 2023 Rubicon 2 door on 35" 3" lift just perfect, I do up to 6 rated trails with no issues
seen so many people go to 37" tires and down the rabbit hole of repairs and worn-out parts

I just ordered my tires. $2291 for 5 255/85/17 MT BB AT! They’ll be mounted on Monday! Probably order that teraflex lift here in the next couple days unless the rubicon shocks and springs do the job! Definitely ordering the Apex disconnect here soon too.

35s are good for trails but actually wheeling needs 37s. Clearance in mud holes, or rocks and stumps. That extra little bit is necessary. You do wheeling like that expect to do repairs. Bigger * tires more money. The meek stay home.

define wheeling..I have done the Rubicon, dusy ershim, many of the tougher moab trails including rose garden hill, behind the rocks, golden spike, kane creek etc all on 35's. I doubt I need to do any tougher trails to be satisfied.

I did Pritchet Canyon in a TJ on 33s. Of course, that was almost 30 years ago when it was a graded country road. I did Cliffhanger in a half ton Chevy pickup truck with a 2.5" lift, 35s, and only a rear locker and an open front IFS differential. Same scenario, back when it was a graded country road, at least compared to now. The trails are getting more challenging. 35s are the new 33s. 37s are the new 35s. 40s are the new 37s. And so on.

I’ve seen plenty of videos of people doing gnarly trails on all sizes of tires. Listening to the NWJEEPCAST they just did some 10/10 trails in New Mexico on 42s in his race Jeep and he still struggled. He’s also done other 10/10 trails on their Midwest tour in the same Jeep and walked them. I’ve listened to lots of podcasts and watched plenty of videos of lot of trails and everyone’s ratings are always different from what the trail is actually rated. My buddy has a grand Cherokee WK2 a well known YouTube channel and lots of sponsors and wheels lots of places I’ve been with him on a couple. Some places a wk2 has no business being but it does the trail just fine. Just takes longer cause tire size limitations but you learn good lines and tire placement pretty quick. And because the wk2 has minimal aftermarket support you learn to take care of it on the trail because fixing broken things isn’t as easy as a wrangler. I mean I’ve seen stock early era Willys take on Moab and do just fine. So I think 35s are just fine for quite a bit of the trails. I don’t think it takes a whole lot of skill to take a vehicle on 40s and a big lift for clearance or bigger through a rock garden, the 40s and big lift are going to just walk right over most of them. Do you want a challenge? Or do you just want enough tire and clearance to treat it as a mild service road cause the vehicle is so big and has so much clearance it’s too easy?

I think I’ve settled on 35s. That way I can get a better lift. I’m thinking this teraflex kit.
Now is the battle royale of which tires. My wife has 35x11.5x17 KO3s on her Escalade and they’re quite on road. Handle great I hate that they pick up rocks/pebbles and just absolutely flings them like David at Goliath. I’ve also been considering MT Baja boss ATs. I’ve read nothing but great things about them watched countless videos of tire reviews. I like the AT4W also. My thing is it needs to have the 3PMS rating. So if you guys have some ideas of a decent lift and tires let me know!
AT4W has 35x11.5R17 in C load. I've got that size in 18s on my truck. Awesome tire.

Measures 35x11.9" actual.

Since 37’s are the new 35’s for Jeeps it would be nice if the tire mfg’s would figure it out and start offering C loads. Most of the 37’s currently offered are more suited for my Ram 2500.
