Not an e-torque, as we don’t have them in Australia. Is yours an E-Torque?
I've got a 2018 JL and 2021 JT both 3.6's and I never use ESS and have never seen any issues. Just curious if maybe the E-Torque is at play with this

Check out the other hesitation thread. The reason for the hesitation is the VVT randomly actuates resulting in the engine timing retarding itself. The sudden reduction in timing in such a light load scenario causes that stumble you feel. It essentially dramatically reduces the torque output of the engine when the timing is retarded compared to the advanced state it was in before. After 2-3 seconds the VVT actuates again and brings the timing back to where it was before.Well, our 2023 manual does this as well. Any known fix for this? Have not done the clutch recall. It seems to be very random. 3rd gear slight load.
Thank you for the explanation, hopefully they get it resolved. My original first thought was the clutch was slipping, then I realized it was not. Thanks again!Check out the other hesitation thread. I have been working with star/engineering to get this resolved in my 2024. I've replaced every sensor bolted to the engine among other things. It appears to be a software issue at this point. You can stop it from happening by unplugging all 4 VVT solenoids at the front of your valve covers, however the engine's full economy and overall torque output will suffer a bit.
