Misleading. You didn't differentiate when responding to his comment. You knew he was talking about the one you've been pushing the whole time: Signature.
He isn't interested in 25,000 mile oil. So why would I quote Signature Series prices (under $10 a quart wholesale)?

Because if you did, he'd be right about the price being high. That's why.

And now you have to quote wholesale to get it under $10 a quart. Man, you are putting on a show here tonight!

He mentioned Mobil 1, Castrol Syntec, Pennzoil Platinum, and Royal Purple at auto part stores. I've seen them priced much higher than AMSOIL OE, XL and even Signature Series. So AMSOIL doesn't seem too high. Still waiting for a 72,000 mile oil change interval passing UOA with going longer recommendation in a Pentastar with Valvoline or Mobil 1.

I've not made any claim that requires me to show a 72k OCI with another oil. I would never run an oil that far.

Btw, if you have the UOA from a 72k run with Amsoil in a Pentastar, I'd like to see that. I'd like to see both the UOA data and the engine itself.

You made the claim that Amsoil Signature is better. Show me the Pentastar that provides the evidence. You made the claim. You show the support. Like I said, I'm running a Pentastar. That's what I want to see. Beat the Valvoline. That should be low hanging fruit, according to your boasts about Amsoil. You don't even have to show one with long OCI's. Show me one even with short ones.

Awww, man, I knew it. There are asterisks all over this, starting with the fact it had a bypass oil filter. Let's get real. NOBODY here is running a bypass oil filter. Read through the posts, too. They point out all kinds of missing info. Here, one BIG asterisk should cover it.....

What asterisks? Bypass filter stated as part of the link. He plans on running another 6 months on the same oil. AMSOIL held up great. Nobody here runs their Pentastar 625,000 miles either. Show me a comparable Valvoline or Mobil 1 UOA.

Bypass filter. There's one. Read the thread and there are more to be found. But that's the big one.

I probably won't live long enough to run my Pentastar that far. But I'm confident it will get to several hundred thousand.....On Mobil 1, Pennzoil Platinum, Valvoline, or Shell Rotella, Castrol, or even Supertech. And those oil companies don't need a pestering Amway-style marketing scheme with dealers who may not realize they have become that relative that nobody wants to see show up at Thanksgiving dinner.

The 626k guy does say it is nearly all highway miles and had some engine work.
"one head all stock cams and lifters. (Left). Right head ate a lifter and took out a lobe. I replaced everything on that head. Both cams, lifters and rockers. That was around 150,000 I think." Not impressed. Ran Valvoline synthetic and High Mileage synthetic 5w-20.

I have a JLUR 3.6, about 44k miles and this will be my first time doing an oil change myself. Is this the correct weight? And decent kind of oil? It's also on sale. How many courts oil does it take? Thanks

@Intropy is right. 0w20. Here is what I'm running right now....

If you like Mobil 1, there is also Truck & SUV 0w20 and Mobil 1 Extended Performance 0w20. Any flavor will do. The EP is the hghest performing version, but all are outstanding.

Thanks guys I ended buying 0w20.

Now where do you guys get your oil filter from? Lol

I run a Fram Ultra 11665 or Mobil 1 M1-C456A.

The Mopar MO-349 is fine, too, but doesn't filter as well.

In order of filtering efficiency: This is by their own published results in standardized tests. All of them are good filters and would keep your engine in great shape for hundreds of thouseands of miles, if run with a good quality oil, which most 0w20's are. Even Walmart Supertech 0w20 is good oil. I just prefer Mobil 1, Pennzoil, or CHevron (Havoline) oils.

1. Fram Ultra
2. Fram Tough Guard
3. Fram Extra Guard
4. Mobil 1
5. (probably) Mopar. Not sure of its actual efficiency, but I'm confident it would be number 5 on this list. Certainly more efficient than the Wix.
6. Wix (good filter, but surprisingly low efficiency)

I don't run Purolators because I've seen posts where some have torn pleats. However, I have NOT seen this on an application for this engine, so they are probablyi fine.

Just my 2 cents.

Btw, that's a GREAT choice! It is the new API SP formula. It should start a love affair with your engine! I'd run it at least 5k miles but would be very confident all the way to 0% on your oil life monitor. My guess is that 0% would land somewhere around 8500 miles, depending on your driving pattern. The 3.6 is easy on oil and that is a very stout one, so it'll be in good shape even at that mileage.

Once done, take a look at what you spent and see what an oil change at a quickie lube or dealer would cost. You are saving a TON of money and most likely getting better oil and filters.
