Wild rumor that I heard at the Jeep display at EJS this year is that the Sahara will get 360 degree cameras, with the side cameras mounted in the mirrors. Very similar to the system that's in the Wagoneer. Doesn't sound to me like it's anything ground breaking or significant, the big changes will be in 2028.
Just the Sahara? That implies it's focused on curbs and not boulders. That's screwed up.

Don't expect any major changes, just incremental, though 2028. If you're on the fence with FOMO, just get one. I would only expect minor changes in paint, decals, etc, until the end of the JL cycle.

Keep in mind that the Wrangler had a redo in 2024 and normally it's a 4-6 year cycle.

Possibilities:

- eDCT Hybrid system in the Automatic versions
- expansion of the 'X' model variant with new factory installed options
- 5.7L or 6.4L engine option so basically a Hemi V8
- minor interior design changes and a non-fabric dash option
- New Hard Top option. Removable rear side windows and tailgate glass
- new standard brakes
- redesigned steering system with branded stabilizer
- LED lighting standard for all models

The guy I talked to (claimed he was with Jeep engineering) said that to me while we were standing next to a Sahara with the turn signals in the mirrors. He said because of the already unique mirrors the wiring harness didn't need to be changed much. I did ask about the Rubicons and suggested that a 360 Trail Cam would be cool and all he said was "Makes sense, we're looking at it..." He laughed and said, "If the Bronco has it, we'll probably have it also!" I don't know Broncos at all and if 360 cameras are an option with them. Other changes will be colors, but he wasn't specific. He said nothing about the upcoming 2028, but I wasn't expecting him to spill any real beans to some random Jeep Guy.

Turn signals in the mirrors are a European standard in Wranglers sold there so it makes sense to make a Jeep ready to sell to any market.

A crash cam wouldn’t surprise me. It’s basically standard now in SUVs at a similar price point, and Jeep just refreshed the upstream electronics while adding new side airbags.

A family member got hit in a 2023 SUV. Again, similar price point. She was correctly stopped at a red light, in front of a cop. The vehicle recorder automatically dumped full 360° cams for ~30 seconds before and after the impact.

It was a very short discussion with the other guy’s insurance company. We were found to have 0% liability.

We have something similar in our 2020 X3 M. The concept is cool, but the Birdseye 360 view is a bit distorted, I don't trust it when parking in tight spots, can't image it would really help on the trail, unless the technology is improved

Can confirm. ^^

I curb-rashed a similar European alloy rim by trusting the bird’s eye 360° view. Bad words were mumbled, along with the phrase “are you #%*’ing kidding me??”

I would never bet my life on that technology package. Not yet.

Sahara is probably the right place to start, actually.

If they would move the mirrors off the doors first, that would be much better.

Hopefully they correct the mismatched colors on the current Rubicon dash. Red stitching on the dash and every where else, white stitching on the "Oh $hit" handle on the passenger side and then orange gages in front of the driver. Who thought that made sense?

That assumes Jeep/Stellantis cares about aesthetics in the first place.

i.e. keeping two circle vents on either end of the dash while making the middle dash vents rectangular under that phablet screen 😂

The only thing I could find is an upgraded transmission with an electric motor for the 4xe with improved battery only range and more horsepower. There are no other technical details like whether the 12v starter will be removed as Toyota does.

Edit: There are claims of improved steering feel on highway and reduced cabin noise via improved sound insulation and better door sealing.

This, bolded. WTF??? My only real complaint about my 2025. Why didn't they leave the color accents on the gages red, at least on the Rubicon. And I miss the red Rubicon dash, though the textured dash that replaced it isn't bad.

I do love everything else about it though!!
