Earlier than a lot of 392 orders, including mine…..about the only saving grace is the price has gone up 3 times since I ordered…..and God knows (or maybe he/she doesn’t) the pricing will go up big on the ‘24.
Very true about the pricing. I contemplated going to a 2024 order, but there are things about the 2023s that I like more.

I'm not holding my breath about the 5/2 production date. I'll believe it when I see it, as I'm pretty sure the half doors are the hold up. But at least the regression to D allowed me to get the Tow Package added as part of the order.

On another note, I had a Punk'n 392 that I ordered on 11/28/22 and decided to change my mind on the color. While I was canceled off the order, the dealership left the order in place. It was delivered last week on 3/22/23. Not terrible.

Here's to waiting! ?

Mine was built on 2/20 and had to wait for a train to Louisiana. It got to the rail yard on 3/20 and then to the dealer by train on 3/24.
Good to know, mine was delivered to the storage yard on 3/20 and waiting on a train (as of 3/24, no update since). All this fuss about a dang Jeep, ordering a BMW was WAY easier.

I have a 2024 order in with half doors and the dealer said ahead of time to prepare for about a month extra delay because of them…. For a factory order it should be worth it, especially with a 392 in your case god forbid you ever sell!

I got the same update and went down the Google rabbit hole. The only info I could find was "direct shift gearbox" which ( from what I could gather) is an automatic transmission with dual clutches in place of a torque converter. They usually have the option to manually shift gears up and down.

Here's a better description.

OK my question would be is if you have a "dual" transmission with auto and DSG and your Automatic transmission fails, can you then drive the vehicle in DSG mode?

Highly doubtful. I suspect the transmission is computer controlled and a failure would affect both auto and the simulated manual functions. But, I'm no expert. Someone in the forum probably has enough knowledge to provide an accurate response.

Okay, so I can be a bit mean sometimes. Here's a (modified for forum posting) screenshot I showed someone today for April Fool's Day. Complete with the actual pizza tracker login page ("Look away while I enter my password" [VON]) and some absolutely stellar devastated-reaction acting.

It was quite the successful prank, albeit short lived because I'm not that mean. (Plus I don't want to tick off karma or tempt fate...)

Definitely. It's my Jeep, but the prank-ee is almost as excited about it as me. I couldn't sustain the deception too long because I wanted it to be a joke, not me dealing with wailing or worse. lol
After revealing the truth, there was a sigh of relief followed by laughter.

Oh gotcha lol, I have a similar situation meet a guy through the gti community actual bought his cai from him and we became really good friends and he is just as excited about me getting the Jeep as I am plus helping me install all the stuff I plan to put on it. Even though he isn’t into trucks/suvs type vehicles. He has the Jeep tracker bookmarked so he can check it several times a day like I do lol.

Jeep has been playing that game with mine, but instead of a straight cancel, they won't finish and deliver it until I'm dead of old age.

Folks, we seriously need to up our venting outrage these days.....Jeep is delivering WAY too many vehicles on time.

Where are the 9, 10 month and 1 year wait timers at? We had plenty of those in Dec & Jan. Anybody else with an outstanding order from before Halloween?

CMon, step it up....even Bronco waiters are laughing at our complacency. But at least WE can order a damn hardtop.

My windshield that was cracked on dealer dropoff was fixed today, so I officially consider myself now graduated from the venting thread, at roughly 8 months, 1 week. I hear you can make humans in almost the same amount of time -- Jeeps must be complex!

And not as much fun to make…….

Good luck to you, you don’t have to be a stranger……just pay a visit if you want to feel better about yourself watching us cry.

I’ll feel better when we get to hand this thread off to the ‘24 waiters.

FELLOW MT Folks:
Just wanted to pass some info. On March 21, I was told that my new Estimated Shipping Date was 4/28. As of today, my Estimated Shipping date is 4/29. So, I'm guessing that's maybe a positive sign that they have a solution, and they are lining up D1s for the new MT.
Who else with an MT has an Estimated Shipping Date of late April, and/or early May?
