Hey guys, I got a 2020 Wrangler JL with a 2.0 turbo motor and it’s been rock solid for the first 50,000 miles. All maintenance done. Coolant isn’t leaking radiator fan seems to work but the coolant temp got really high and the engine started overheating so I turned it off. I let it calm down. Turn it back on and immediately start overheating again turn it off again.

anyone else seen this issue?

FYI, coolant evaporates. It must be regularly checked and topped off.
If coolant level dipped enough below MIN you will suck in air which will cause exactly what you're seeing.

Make sure you're checking the black coolant reservoir next to the turbo and not just the clear one at the front of the engine.

****Update on my overheating issue***

The dealer says a faulty heater supply hose and tube was allowing coolant to leak out from the secondary coolant resevior as others pointed out. Not covered under the Powertrain warranty since it's a hose according to the Dealer. Here is their description, hopefully this is helpful to other 2.0 owners if they have this issue.

They tested the headgasket and said it was find per the pressure test.

One other question for this crew, has anyone out there talked to Jeep Cares about this issue and have they been able to get it covered by warranty? My Jeep has 47k miles and I have the 5 year, 50k powertrain warranty.

The 5yr/60k power train warranty only covers “internally lubricated” parts; heater hose wouldn’t be covered.
