I just popped mine off while the roof was off. I will get some glue and reattach them next time it is off.

JL sport has crank windows, I wanted that upgrade, but sadly the crank catches on my knee, its not drivable for tall people
I'm 6'4" and have had Jeeps since 1975. It's very easy to change the position of the handle when closed. Simply roll up the window, remove the handle & position it so it doesn't bug you! The handle has a Jesus Keeper.

My leg would like to be about 2-3" through the door, the sport S has it removed so its alot more comfortable.

For us it was breaker bar and time. Driver side took maybe half hour. Passenger side was over an hour. Aside from the loctite they are a bit finicky in that you need to apply a good deal of downforce to remove.
Hi Everyone,

Just curious, how strong do the factory body mount bolts look? There a few posts on the forum of people who have had the bolts snap while removing during slider installation. Do the Ace sliders come with upgraded hardware?

BTW, I'm in Italy with the family on vacation and I've seen about 6 Wranglers so far, and all of them were 2 doors! They probably don't sell the Unlimited here, as some of the roads in town are pretty tight and narrow. There are tons of Renegades and Cherokees too, although, none were Trailhawks.

Sorry for any typos....my fingers are too big to type on this tiny phone. Ugh!

Yeah, the roads over there are definitely more narrow that back here in the US. Since the JL (2-door) and JLU (4-door) are the same width, I don't see the roads themselves being the issue. Probably more the availability of parking spaces. There's a reason that the old Fiat 500s were so small. Just check out the middle car in the image below to see how small the old version was back then.

I'm thinking that an old CJ-5 would be more practical for the reduced parking spots than the JL though.

There's probably also the issue of lack of land, old towns that have grown up around what used to be horse and wagon trails and them not wanting (or able to) buy out the old houses and build modern roads. And then there's that whole preserving history and old architecture thing so that people would actually visit the country. :)

They look fine. My understanding is they have been breaking on the 4 doors cause they added an extra bolt but it is smaller in diameter. Red locktite is tough and on a smaller bolt if you get to aggressive and dont take your time it will break

The bolt is an 18 mm head, I dont know but would guess that would translate to about a 3/8th or 1/2 inch standard bolt. I think 19mm is equivalent to a 3/4 which would be 1/2inch if that makes sense

Top down at 11pm in 66 degree clear skies. 65 highway miles.

Yup, heated seats and wheel work great! I even had the floorboard heat blasting to warm my son’s bare feet at on each point.

That moon last night... wow.

Yes, the Fiats are definitely one of the more popular makes around here. Makes sense since it's their domestic brand here. My rental is a Fiat Tupo. Nice car, although the diesel has a real narrow powerband...good torque, but no power past about 3k rpm.

I like those classic 500s. Saw two nice examples driving around Florence a few days ago. One looked stock, the other must have been restored because it looked almost brand new.

If you are worried about snapping the bolts later on then
just go out and buy "Grade 9" bolts and switch them out.
