Welcome.

Before you decide to set the Jeep up to be an RV toad decide if you want an aftermarket steel bumper or not. The baseplate will run you about $400 plus install plus wiring for the tail lights. If you plan to get an aftermarket steel bumper, most of them can be towed with and you would just need to get some adapter brackets to go on the shackle points and those adapters will be maybe $150.

Thanks and good tip! I'm kind of thinking if I go steel, I might just go with the factory one (mine's plastic). Either way, the Maximus-3 tow bits (will be here tomorrow) would be the same for both. I don't think I want a HD front bumper. Kind of like the (mostly) stock look. I think??? Definitely maybe?

Hi! Well, I guess I just want to get my 1st post out of the way. :)
Just bought a JLUR 4xe over the weekend. So far, I love it more than I anticipated!
Will be a daily driver for me, and also a toad behind the RV for family adventures (with 3 younger kids). Hoping to do light off-roading, trail running, etc. Nothing serious, so will likely keep it stock re: lift/tires (famous last words???).
Dead pedal, screen protector, hood lift, and front rockbloz either on the way or installed. Thinking of ordering seat jackers today.
Been reading the forum as much as possible, just trying to acclimate myself.

That all said, any words of advice? Is there any conventional wisdom for things that someone completely new might not know/understand?

Also, a couple questions:
- Can anyone recommend easy on, easy off, seat covers?
- It's a little "darty". Feels like very little caster. Is this a thing? Do people do anything about it?
- I expected a noisy interior, and it'd not bad. But, are there any tricks to making the wind noise maybe a little better?

Lastly, the wave... Seems like only the older jeeps, that look like they're used as God intended, give me the wave. Is that about right?

But, really lastly, I've installed the angry grill. I really don't like the aesthetics, but based on all the recommendations on so many of the other threads...

Thanks!
Skip
Congrats!

My wife SWORE she would keep her new Jeep stock too, in spite of mine being built. Well, it didn’t take long Skip. Hers now has 34s, a 2.5” lift, rock step sliders, a steel front bumper, a winch, a recovery kit, a stubby antenna, and pod lights on the bull bar.

”Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated!”

As far as the other new member mentioned before, it was a nudist couple. Their profile picture was of the two of them, naked (you could see them from the waist up). The wife posted additional topless pics. She was anatomically well-endowed. Needless to say, they were banned from this forum.

Lol
And we're all left still wondering who's their son ??
Who knows if anything they said was true? Their lifestyle seemed more important to them than any Jeep-related conversation! I was hoping they would last a little longer. I posted right after the thread was deleted, and included this video:

I’ve towed mine 10k behind a motorhome using an RVI brake, RVzi brake away switch and battery powered light bar with a transmitter plugged into the rv. Zero wiring modifications to the Jeep, has worked exceptionally well.

Ha! That's some funny stuff!

Really appreciate all the welcomes and advice!

I gave the Jeep its first wash and planned on giving a coat of "ceramic" coating. Holy cow, there's lots and lots of crevices and hard to reach spots on that sucker...
