I have the Mopar one, came with the MOAB package. I absolutely would not pay for it, it really doesn't do much.

I've got the Hothead. I've read it's better than Mopar option and I wanted tan/beige color. I like it other than the sides have not stuck on well. Tops pieces are holding fine. I don't know if they are worth it. Just Empty Every Pocket
Ben, just a question. Did you clean the side areas good with acetone. The side panels of my HotHeads are sticking great. Good luck, I hope you get them sticking. I'm sure that's aggravating. Also, the owner is very helpful is you need him.

OP, the HotHead headliners are very nice. They are thicker than the OEM, and come with sound deafening strips that really help. Even my Alpine radio system sounds better with the HotHeads installed. They are very easy to install, and the price is right in line with the OEM price.

Check 'em out.

Yep, Acetone. Stuck for about a month or that's when I noticed both side coming loose. No biggie they are not falling off. Many ways to fix, just haven't gotten round to it yet.

I do too, it insulates the hard top better in hot and cold, I believe I read that the JL hard top is not as thick as the JK...

I have Hotheads. I like them. Are they worth it? Impossible for me to say with certainty because this is my first Jeep and I put them on S soon as I got her. But I think they’d be worthwhile to me for looks alone. Heat rejection or sound dampening are a bonus.

I had one on my JK. It’s okay at best. Yeah,
sound was reduced a tad as well as better than stock for insulation, but not mind blowing. Heat worked very well and my music is loud. I’m saving my nickels this go around. Oh, panels would not stay completely seated and dropped regardless following instructions to the tee.

I concur, you would have to hook up some decibel equipment to measure the real differences, but its basically insulation, and we all know that insulation works even if its just a koozie around a beer can...

I have the factory ones and they work fine to keep the heat down.

I have the hot head with Sound Assassin. I would do it again tomorrow. Great product and I've had no issues.

Ive had 2 JLs. One without headliners and one with headliners (mopar).

The headliners GREATLY reduce noise. Ive had no problems with my mopar yet, but I would buy HOTHEADS instead, they look way nicer. I got a really good deal on my jeep, it was a lot jeep so it wasnt a choice for me.

I've always been of the impression that headliners best address keeping out heat, with less ability to keep in cold or out noise.

@entropy: would you say that noise, over heat abatement on your Hotheads is their best feature?

@intheaspens : only you can determine
  • how much heat you get,
  • how well you tolerate it,
  • how much headliners will address this
  • how much noise you get,
  • how well you tolerate
  • how much headliners will address this, and
  • how much you like the look of them.

Well I have Molar liners and I like them for the Texas heat, I measured the temp and they lower the temp a few degrees. So my opinion they are worth. It's your choice over-all.

I don’t know if it would be worth it to you or not where you live, but it definitely helps with the Florida sun. I think it keeps the heat out better than it keeps the cold out. We took them out to see if there was a difference this summer, and there was a significant difference. If we get a couple of days of freezing weather this winter we’ll do another study......:)
I have a black hard top without headliners. After the Jeep has been in the sun for 30+ minutes you cannot keep your hand on the inside of the hardtop lol (especially the rear). Which ones did you purchase?
