I also have an 62 Beetle Convertible. I always hated how VW treated enthusiasts. They would sue people with personal blogs for writing about their restorations. They actively went after lots of aftermarket part manufacturers which would not have been a big deal *if* they had actually produced aftermarket part themselves. Instead it was more like they wanted forced obsolescence.

I just prefer the culture of the Mopar manufacturers who still produce crate engines and parts for cars going back 50+ years.

Plus the ethics of the company (emissions scandal) definitely bothers me. I am not naive enough to believe that car companies are in it for the good of the people, but actively scamming like that cemented my negative opinion of them--although not enough to ever get rid of my old Beetle :)
Don't kid yourself....The VW diesel engine was for the good of the people.

Top is clean, bottoms is dirty. This color actually hides dirt pretty well.

Can I just say how jealous I am of anyone that posts pictures with views like that. I want mountains in my backyard too. Michigan is nice, but flat. :)

Well, I pulled the trigger this morning and ordered the Sting Gray Rubicon! Delivery likely sometime in December. Thanks for the pics and advise. This is my first wrangler and I am excited.
Great choice! I love Sting Gray - a very unique tone, it pops in it's own way. It will be awesome with the black accents. Top of my list of favs along with Firecracker, Ocean Blue, and Punkin.

Bigdogs- Do you have the painted roof or do you have one of the black roofs on yours? I would love to see a full picture of your Sahara in Sting Gray. I had ordered a sport S in that color and then cancel the order to order a Sahara with the power rule. When I switch to the Sahara I thought that the Sting gray would be too aggressive on a full painted body so I switched to granite. Still wondering if I made the right decision I haven’t been able to see a Sahara in Sting Gray yet
MAPC ,
Mine has the black hardtop and I think it looks better than matching top.
But I don't have a pic handy. Did snap this one yesterday after adding the Alien full shade.
I-phone pic is washed out and it made the tires look puny. Way bette

Agree. Mine stays clean really well. Very happy with it. Ceramic coating does help a lot too.
What ceramic coating did you get? Interested in doing so for my new Rubi.

Thanks. I think with the body colored hardtop I’m going to stick with Granite but I love Sting Gray with the black top! That is what I had ordered for my Sport S before I switched to the Sky Roof

I don't think I would grow sick of a car color *if* it was one I chose in the first place. I had a dark green Camry back in the day when everyone had a dark green Camry. I HATED that car so much. There was a sea of them every time I went into a parking lot. I only bought it because my dad badgered me into getting one because they were "such reliable cars." I traded it in at my 3 month oil change.

On the other hand, my only new car I have ever owned (aside from my current Jeep) was a 2000 Limited Edition Reflex Yellow Beetle that I ordered. It was one of only 2000 in the country. That car made me absolutely HATE VW, but I never grew tired of the color, despite not being a fan of yellow normally.

Holy God... those were both terrible for many reasons.... You upgraded well. Far as yellow go, JK Dozer was good, I preferred Crush. JL Nacho is one of my fav yellows to date.
Really like my Sting Gray and it takes quite a bit of dirt to really look dirty. Mostly its the fenders and bumpers that tell on me.

I actually saw a Crush while I was running around today. I am not an orange person either, but I love that color on a Jeep.

Isn't Dozer the same paint code as Nacho?

Not sure. Dozer seems to me to have less orange than Nacho.

I haven't seen them side by side. I need to hunt down paint codes since I am curious now :)

Edit: assuming these paint touch up sites were accurate, they are the same.

AH! You took this all Engineer technical. I work with those machines (Engineers) often and get the the why is my small brain in this room feeling often. But, figured it out about 10 years ago, I am in there because people that smart sometimes need someone (like me) to get them back on task and make them get things done. Neway! I am curious to see what you figure out!

LOL, I often say I have a Dr. Seuss brain. I have no concept of math or dates. Anything artistic though (like color) catches my interest.
