Noticed what seems to be a pattern on mine. To be candid, I usually only drive a few miles each way to work so I haven’t had a long drive to validate the scenario. However, it seems that mine is primarily off in the morning when I first drive (and it’s cooler?). Then in the later part of the day (warmer?) it seems to be spot on. I have seen this at least 3 times now and was finally able to document it. What you can see is when it’s off, the dial does not drop to zero and reads over by roughly the amount it’s above zero. When it’s accurate, it will read true zero at a stop. The timing may not be related and just coincidence, but I’m certain the zeroing piece is the key to it being off. Root cause of the zeroing issue???? See pics

My JLUR has only 3 months and I started noticing it on the highway and then on some stoplights ranges from 3-10 mph, but today I noticed that it got stuck at 10 MPH on idle when I had a sudden stop and the Jeep's autostart turned it off before the marker hit 0.
Dunno if that's the cause, but posting to see if you guys can do a test and post back

I got my gauge cluster replaced, but not because the speedometer needle was off. I was the RPM indication that did it in. I initially took mine in for the speedometer being a few MPH off, Jeep's response was that that is normal and no repair required. :movember: When I took it in with both RPM and speedometer problems (and a Jeep Cares case number) I got a new gauge cluster. The new cluster is spot on for both speedometer needle and RPM. :)

Hello frostai,

We're sorry to hear about this concern. If you end up going into the dealer, let us know. We're available via direct message and would be happy to help with that process.

My cluster was replaced by my dealer when I showed them a few week worth of pictures of my speedometer off from the digital speedometer. Mine would jump 1mph every drive cycle and then randomly reset.

The new cluster has been perfect since the replacement.

Also heading to the dealer in the next few days for a new cluster. Having the same speedometer issues and my odometer shows 999999 randomly on startup. Drive for a few miles and it goes back to normal...

Hi D-Mo,
Glad to hear you have an appointment with your dealer. There's actually a STAR case open for this and your dealer should have access to the details. If you have any questions you can send JeepCares a private message.

I have a Jeep JL Rubicon and just noticed it’s doing the exact same thing as described.

Full stop showing 6mph
The real question is, "does it accumulate miles while sitting still thinking it's doing 6mph"? *LOL*
