It’s true, I think OP has an unfounded belief that most newer cars he sees with gas filler covers have an internal release button. I’d be curious if (prior to being arrested) he walked through this imaginary parking lot fully of nefarious sugar saboteurs and pushed on each gas filler door how many would open, then how many don’t even have a true gas cap but just a spring loaded cover just big enough to accept the filler nozzle. I won’t contribute to his criminal defense fund either. My vote, spend your money and actually do what you’re proposing or let this hypothetical problem go.
Then let me set the record straight. Most liquid fuel based passenger vehicles on the road have some system by which you can't just pop open access to the fill neck, but we are in fact seeing such devices less, although still in most newer liquid fuel based vehicles. But then again, (and irrelevant) we're seeing more capless systems too.

I'm not sure what crime you have me committing that would warrant my arrest related to checking other vehicles gas caps when I've fully conceded that gasoline sabotage, either siphoning or contaminating is exceedingly rare, let alone little my business outside my own vehicle. But hay, anything for attention and a laugh right?

My OP was a harmless question whether some product existed.

You've asked me to do what I'm proposing: I can't help you. I already have a locking gas cap that for all the concern you seem to think I have about gasoline tampering I've already conceded replacing with more the reliable (no EVAP codes) non-locking original factory one.

For all the ridiculousness you seem associated with these devices, MOPAR brought two (one key matching one not), along with other vendors implementations to market, and Lastsun devised the previously linked one that locks access from the interior. So someone out there's interested, and if that's not you or me (or is) that's fine.

Terry: the other day I laughed at some joke you made about my wearing a Flashdance sweatshirt. It was funny even though at my expense. This is just a sad attempt to gain attention.

Here's the difference between us. I act here as I would with people face to face. You, unless you enjoy getting popped in the nose by others, can't possibly be doing so.

Oh, and the sugar thing...? What's far easier to get down a vehicle's gas neck than sugar and far more damaging?

Spoiler alert: it's water, which I know, is really hard to come by; expensive too.

LOL. Just when you were doing so well and getting along. My comments are meant in jest but if I think something’s dumb I’m not going to pretend it’s not. You are convinced you take the moral high ground but I see enough of your posts to know this is one of your personal blind spots. Also the allegations you’ve been banned multiple times with different user names intrigues me. Maybe there’s no truth to it.

I know I’m being a class clown and antagonizing you. People I hang out with can give and take a joke and some good natured ridicule. You are free at any time to ignore me if this gets you that emotional. If we had this conversation in person I would laugh and tell you the same thing with no animosity and not expect either of us would feel someone needed to be “popped in the nose”.

No matter how many times you say it, it doesn't make it true. It's not nearly as universal as you think. Most filler flaps I've encountered are not the latching type you seem to think they are. No truck or suv I've ever owned or driven has had one. Not Chevy, Ford, or ram. Not the gladiator. Obviously not Jeeps in general. Not the Ford focus or escape. If the big 3 don't do it, are you still convinced it's MOST vehicles?Toyota and Honda seem to do it at least on the ones I've owned/driven. But you keep declaring this majority that isn't true from what I've seen. Which is why terry suggested actually checking fuel flaps in a parking lot, most are in fact not latched. Simply spring loaded.

Im starting to think this is some sort of creative writing process hes going through cause no one should be this delusional and scared in real life.

I mean there are a ton of high profile people that are certainly trying to make that not be the case.

Earlier I wrote that this idea is ten pounds of stupid in a five pound bag....

The bag is getting smaller now.

Logorrhea maybe. Or it’s just an emotionally fragile time of the month.
Maybe, the first post was on the 13th of Aug so its similar timeframes.

They'd need something to get the water down into the neck. Something like a container that had fuel additives. That requires planning ahead and not your typical Dastardly Scoundrel searching for victims in a parking lot.
Look, tampering of any kind is exceeding rare. But please don't make it sound like plastic water bottles are anything but ubiquitous.

Right back at your Terry @Terrymo. Nobody forces you to read or respond, to me or others.

As evidenced by your Flashdance sweatshirt comment a few days ago, I can take a joke just fine.

You went over a line here.
