I got these to protect my hinges from rock chips, having gotten a chip in the first 500 miles. I did not think much about them until some forum users asked in a different thread. So I figured I would post them here.

They are plastic, applied with 3M glue strips, so fairly easy to remove later.
I decided on the (faux) carbon fiber because if gave a bit more depth than just a glossy black. They do not cover as far in as I expected, but they should do the job of preventing the chips.
I had a friend getting in to the Jeep and thought they were an option I got with it, so they fooled him pretty close up.

again, they are just basic plastic, but I thin they will do the job very well of protecting the paint from BS rocks flying, so can have dings and dents with and actual story behind them.

They are two pieces, the main hinge, and the body lower portion of the hinge.

Probably other brands out there, but these are the ones I got and they come in Black, Red and the fake carbon fiber:

Let me know if any questions.

That's what I need. Almost 2500 miles and several chips on the hinges already. And I haven't driven any significant gravel yet. I tried to use the clear film wrap, but couldn't get it to stick nor could my local detail shop. These are kind of ugly, but look better than all chipped up or dabbed with paint. Thanks for the post. Have my Amazon order on the way.

What about plasti dipping them black?
I highly doubt plasti-dip is going to protect them. I had a layer of electrical tape on mine for the trip home (1200 miles) from Idaho, including a couple hundred dirt/gravel road miles. My hinges still took damage through the tape. I added a second layer during the trip. I recommend 3 layers of electrical tape if someone just wants temporary protection.

Great find! I'll be ordering these very soon! Edit....Just ordered a 4 door set in red! Great find!

Now, does anyone know if there are splash guards coming out for the Rubicon? Mopar, Weathertec, or Husky? A set of those on the front will complete the deal!

A WORD OF CAUTION--

THAT 3M ADHESIVE IS EASY APPLIED AND VERY STRONG--"STRONG"-

You say easily removed--not after any length of time and because of the irregular shape of the hinges, removing the 3M tape will probably pull paint-

Good luck

Well, no doubt that's an idea, but---

It would take a large amount of work, for disassembly/reassembly of each hinge and RETORQUING/PLACEMENT, (unless they use adhesive)but

Once you had the new covers REPAINTED and installed---don't you think the same "ROCK CHIP DAMAGE" would occur """
