DIY: Door hinge protection film

I removed mine as they eventually bubbled and looked terrible. I have a sahara with rubi take-offs. It seems the running boards may protect the hinges plenty. I have driven down a ton of gravel roads since 2019 and have 0 chips on my hinges.

These things were a waste for me.

I installed R3 hinge protection about 3 years ago.... over 55,000 miles ago.

My R3 protection still looks aok. No bubbles, no peeling... no chips..

Product has done a terrific job..

I just bought all 3 of the pre-cut 3M they sell, I will probably put mopar sill Guards over them.

Tip: Clean the hinges with Dawn and then hit them with a very light cutting compound before applying the 3M. Helps it stick better.

Mine took almost 3 weeks. I thought maybe it may have gotten lost, so I emailed him. Never got a reply, buy I did get my product.

Mine took about 3 weeks also, I emailed them and coincidentally it shipped the next day.

I know they can be installed without peeling, that part was installer error. But really made no difference for me in the long run. My running boards offer enough protection.
