Question about aux battery...

Fuse F42 should be intact.

The N3 fuse on the Z Case Fuse Array is the immediate concern. If you blew it (likely), the new AUX (ESS) battery no longer has an electrical connection to the main battery and alternator; once it's drained the Jeep will stop running and/or fail to start.

To prevent this issue until replacement of a faulty Z Case Fuse Array, it's possible to temporarily connect the N3 wire terminal to the unused N4 post (same fuse rating).

With all of today’s high tech systems and extensive electronics, I replace all my batteries every 3 years on all my vehicles. This has eliminated a ton of heartache and odd issues. Most of these systems freak out when there is a voltage anomaly. So I no long try to get the maximum life out of a car battery. Best of luck!

Do yourself a favor and just remove the AUX battery. Pull fuse 42. Push the auto start stop button Everytime you start jeep.

Make sure you wrap up the negative cable with a few layers of electrical tape…. Keep it up & outta the way from contacting anything.

Many, many owners bypass and remove the auxiliary battery. I don't know how much truth there is to this method affecting other components since it exists for the auto stop/start system. I haven't seen that mentioned here.

Since I have the Genesis dual battery kit, I don't speak from experience. If that were the case, I doubt most here would (strongly) recommend removing the aux battery.

Take a look here, it's in the power distribution center (on the right, by the passenger-side firewall, where all your fuses are located)... but since you mentioned learning.... maybe you should take this to the dealer if it has to be replaced.
