Title kind of says it all but has anyone found a solution that brings the spare tire in towards the jeep when going to a 37"? Every option I have found pushes the tire further out. I would love to tuck it in as tight as I can.

Thanks!

Can this adjustable mount be mounted with the factory gate reinforcement?
As the XR package, the tire hangs very far from the rear gate.
Thanks

Teraflex adjustable, ~ $370, with reinforcement ~ $1,300.
This is the one I put on my 24 JLUR w/37's about a month ago and it allows you to put the tire as close as you want. It's a relatively easy straight forward install. Getting everything adjusted so the door closes properly, after, you have the spare on can be a little tricky but it's still a relatively easy install.

Did you have the factory gate reinforcement?

Yes, the Teraflex adjustable mount can be used with the Mopar reinforcement. I'm doing so and even with my 9" wide, -12 offset wheel it keeps it tucked right up against the tailgate. I'm using the upper mounting location of the three offered. My tire measures out at 35.1". I was using the middle set of holes and had plenty of clearance for my tire/bumper but it was causing my backup sensors to give false readings so I moved it up. It's okay, just means it's already in the right spot for when I move up to 37's, lol.

Thanks! By chance where is your tire valve/TPMS? I've hear if they are down near the bumper they could also cause the sensors going off?

Yeah, I had heard that as well. Initially it was placed at the 6 o'clock position so I rotated it to move it away from the bumper. Low and behold it worked! At least until I got the tires rotated a month or so later and the problem came back regardless of the TPMS position. It's definitely a hit or miss fix and since I really appreciate the sensors working properly, and plan to move up on tire size, I opted to just move the tire up. I'm also about to install a rear view camera mirror so the tire blocking view out the back won't be an issue much longer.

I went with the Smittybilt HD Pivot system. I have 37x13.50/17” Toyo Open Country M/T’s on Fuel Rincon headlocks and it holds it nice and solid. Heavy duty, adjustable to as close to gate as you want, unit replace OEM hinges and utilizes the OEM camera and has a relocation kit for third brake light that moves light inside spare wheel. About $750 unless you can find a sale. Think I got mine for about 599.00 on sale.

I put one of the Motobilt carriers on my wife's JLUR that holds a 37 just fine, and will hold a 40 if plans change. The tire mount itself is slotted so you can place bracket anywhere you need.
