I have always wondered this. Does the eTorque system use regenerative braking? I feel like if I let off the throttle, I start slowing down really fast without touching the brakes. I figured it was a resistance thing causing that. Maybe its both?
I put the armorlite kit in ours last year. So much better than carpet. We have been places where it is super muddy (the sticky clay mud that sticks to everything) and the floor got super dirty. When we got home, I pulled the plugs and rinsed it out. For the extra clean, I put a little soap down...
Good point. For me, I got a bit tired of hearing how great a vehicle or a mod was for 3-4 videos in a row and then 8 months later it is gone and he says he didn't like it. I would like to hear a more balanced approach and show some of the issues he is having with the vehicle/mod so people can...
I like Matt's stuff. If it is a trail video, I will typically watch it. If it is another battery pack review, I turn it on as background noise when I fall asleep. I appreciate his long form videos (40min+).
I was quite concerned with how our jeep drove as well when I first got it. Really squirrely on the highway and super taxing on the interstate. Each rubicon will vary in its caster angle and I would say ours was on the low side. I put the longer LCA on from mopar and it made a huge difference. I...
I think it would depend on what you are wanting and you can certainly make a case that the rubicon makes more sense. I just wanted to point out the math. It is easy to fall in the mental trap comparing monthly payments. Dealerships use that talking point all the time. But just keep in mind, if I...
^This is the actual math.
^This is not.
Your math should be:
Your sport would take $7K to get rubicon axles. Trading costs $18K.
That means it will cost you an additional $11k over the axle swap.
Will you get an extra $11k worth of options that are actually valued at $11K to you? For...
I use the Warn Sidewinder. I like that it protects the winch line end from branches and such poking at it. Also if using a tree saver, you could pull the pin and use it without a shackle if the need arrises. Same with winch points on trails.
Only downside is if you screw it all the way tight...
I vote 1 as well. As it sits, it nicely modded yet retains usability. It seems as though the daily driver aspect goes down if you go too big. I haven't done so myself so I can't weigh in for sure.
The Mahindra Roxor suggestions are spot on.
I LOVE my old CJ7 but our JLUR is way more capable and I can drive it 12+ hours to road trip to incredible trails. The CJ is fun for 45 min drives, survivable up to 2 hours and just abysmal after that. Its good to have both.
I will agree though that...
I have both the soft top and hard top. I would ditch the soft top and have some sort of lift to take the hard top off.
as others have said, getting into the back with the soft top is a pain. In the summer heat it isn’t so bad but it gets a lot stiffer in the cooler weather.
plus, the back...
Hahahah believe me, if I could somehow make a 2 door work in my life, I would have hands down bought a 2 door. I guess that is what the CJ7 is for in my life.
If you are on an iPhone, switching your phone to vibrate with the side switch turns off and audio notification through your infotainment but your calls will still go through the system.
For argument’s sake, if you are buying a JTR, you are basically getting a loaded vehicle. Also, what would make a Tacoma, ranger, or Colorado better suited than a JT?All of them have very comparable HP and towing capacity. This isn’t meant to be defensive either, I don’t have a JT but curious on...
