Hi, i changed my bumper and it needed a spare tire relocation bracket to fit my 33" inches tires. I installed an all steel very sturdy one. But since the installation when i hit a pothole, the tire bounces. Is this normal if all is very tight?
Is it because tire is about 1 inch higher and 1/2 inch further and it does a lever effect?

Do the bumpers still wedge against the tire? Those are key.

No that sounds like a recipe for something to get damaged. Are the rubber bumpers firmly against the spare tire?

The rubber bumpers? Yes i have extended them. What is strange is that when i didn't have the rubber extensions it didn't vibrate!

It more than likely was vibrating without the extensions, but they just weren't being transmitted to the gate itself.

Having to extend the bumpers is a half baked solution for the tire being cantilevered further from the gate. Those relocation brackets shouldn't even exist, as all they really accomplish is costing someone more money when they inevitably have to replace them for reasons you're experiencing now.

An adjustable carrier is the only truly proper way of accommodating a different size tire and/or wheel. If you'll never go beyond 35's, the Teraflex Alpha HD carrier is a great solution. It offers both height and depth adjustments to properly support the spare without having to add plumbing or furniture pieces to it.

My plan was to install the SPARTACUS HD TIRE CARRIER KIT near end of year. Would this be a good solution you think?

I installed the Rusty’s carrier right from the start. A bit expensive but you get what you pay for. SUPER solid and adjustable. Zero rattles and my swing gate closes perfectly. My wheel/tire combo is 107.4 pounds and I often carry an additional 25-30 pounds of fuel on the spare and I have a folding table on the inside of the gate as well.

I'm pretty sure that's a hinged carrier. How big of a tire do you foresee having on your Jeep? If not larger than 35's, the Teraflex Alpha HD carrier would cover you just fine. It's a bit over $300 and the install is only minimally invasive.

If you do think there's a possibility of going beyond 35's, and want to lay that foundation now, a hinged carrier is a great choice. I have zero hands on experience with anything from rugged ridge, so I can't really comment on their carrier. I opted for the Cavfab Elite hinged carrier, and it barely seems to notice my 40x13.5's. One of the aspects of it that grabbed my attention from all others is the use of Oilite bronze bushings in the hinges.

I will only go 35". But with tailgate table and loads in door, i though hinge reinforcement would be necessary.

I also have option to use bumper tire carrier since it is an option with bumper i have. But need to relocate brake light which is not a big deal. This way all weight would go onto bumper i guess. But what i don't like is putting tire further away.

Oh OK, yeah, tailgate weight is tailgate weight regardless of where it's coming from. A hinged carrier may be your best bet. A bumper mounted carrier will only help the spare vs supporting the spare and table, etc.
