Looking to do a 1.5-2" spacer lift and deciding what's the easiest/quickest method. I've done these on trucks before, but I assume if I just compress the springs while its on its own weight, jack up the jeep, it should be a simple pull out, place the spacer, and reinsert yeah? Or do I have to go through the 50 steps I keep seeing videos on youtube?

Good questio. With the suspension at full droop I wonder if you can compress the springs(with a good spring compressor or rented one) enough to slide them on?Maybe there’s some tips like just having to remove the lower control arm bolts at the axle. Did you talk to the manufacturer?

The way you describe will work to get the spacer in, but because of the change in ride height, the rubber suspension bushings will be partially 'bound' at normal ride height. Therefore, you need to loosen all of the control arm, track bar & shock bolts so that the rubber bushings re-establish their neutral position at ride height, then re-tighten all the bolts. It's the right way to do the job.

There's a big jounce tube in the middle of the front springs that the spacer has to slide up around.

Seems like the easiest way is to put the frame on stands, remove the wheels, disconnect the shocks with a jack under the axle, then let it drop down until you can remove the spring.

It’s crazy how easy it is, don’t be intimidated by it.
Jack up vehicle and support the frame with stands.
Remove wheels and tires
Support the axle with a jack
Disconnect lower shock bolts
Disconnect sway bar end links
Lower the axle and pull the springs out
Add spacers and reinstall springs
Jack the axle back into place
Attach end links and shock bolts
Install wheels and remove Jack stands.
enjoy.

If you're going to over complicate things with spring compressors and trying to do one corner at a time, you will make the job far more difficult than it has to be.

This is missing the steps of loosening all of the control arm and track bar bolts, and then re-tightening them with the vehicle back on the ground with the suspension at the re-established ride height.

Not necessary on a spacer lift. I’ve done several and haven’t done that on any 1-2” lift.

Not required for install, but it's still a good idea so you seat the bushing back at neutral at the new ride height.

It's the only correct way to do the job.
