I have a question regarding the metal cloak drag link jnstall. I’ve been fighting this thing for some time and removed it once to thread the ends all the way in (second time per metalcloak phone call) and only adjust the center section.

I was hitting the track at steering stabilizer relocation bolt on full lock. I have adjusted and adjusted and the only way to not hit it is to angle the drag link slightly upwards and I’m now clearing by 1/8th’ish of an inch on full lock. However with wheels straight, does this look like too much of an angle in the end connections? Any problem with running the drag link slightly shifted upwards like it is?

I’m not sure if it’s gonna hurt anything running it like that, never done it….. but if it was me, I’d use MCs relo bracket and run the drag link in it’s natural state…..just some.02….

I have the metalcloak steering stabilizer relocation bracket. Is there no harm running it at that angle instead of parallel to the tie rod?

That stabilizer you have has some misalignment built into the Fox clamp, so it shouldn’t hurt it… but you’ll have to try it and see how much of an angle it is….. I’m running the MC bracket with that same stabilizer but I’m running it upside down and modified to clear my RK draglink at full lock like yours……

last question for you, does this look correct in the steering stabilizer or should the bushing be “pressed” in a little more. This was my next test is to take this off because I’m only touching at full lock by 1/8th of an inch. If the bushing were able to be pressed in more I’d clear it no problem.

Yeah, you can shorten that up some but you might want to rotate the tie rod clamp to the back a little so it’s not in such an angle….. see how it’s angled a little in your pic, if you tighten up closer to the trackbar bracket it will increase that angle….

Ok, I’ll rotate the clamp slightly backwards (toward the trackbar) and try to tighten that first. If that doesn’t work I’ll switch to the metalcloak bracket! Thank you

Ok I fixed the angle of the steering stabilizer but I’m an idiot. That doesn’t reduce the length of the fox trackbar bolt. It appears the synergy is slightly shorter so I ordered that just now and will see if that works. I’ll also attempt to do the metalcloak relocation to check angle if not but rather not drill, if I can avoid it.

Oh, I thought it was hitting the body of the stabilizer……. Yeah, the synergy has a low profile bolt that will help…you could also get a thinner nylock nut and cut off some of the bolt…..

sorry for the confusion. The actual bolt and tip of my nylock is hitting the drag link. If you zoom in you can see the marks. I’ve adjusted the drag link to the point it’s only the tip of the bolt (maybe 3 threads max). It was originally all the exposed threads and the nylock as well. I think the shorter bolt with solve the problem and then when putting drag link in proper orientation, the end portions won’t be at such an angle. Ugh.

Does the new orientation of the stabilizer look ok?
