JL Wrangler - 2024 grille swap install complete

Appreciate the video and pictures. I don’t mind the new grill in dark colors, but still prefer the older grill on any color other than dark gray or black.

The only interest I have in the new grille is that some have said it gives you some extra room for a winch install. Older grill makes it pretty tight for the wires with my current set up.

Believe that this increases air flow if you want to lie to yourself. It can only increase the flow of air as far as width goes, but it decreased the vertical height of the grill and added an extra chunk of plastic below the grill that blocks air. The radiator in the JL is much taller than it is wide. So to my eye it decreased air. Just look at a photo of the grill pulled. The radiator sits between the headlights by quite a few inches on each side, but goes down behind the bumper.

Do you know the part numbers you ordered? I think that pretty much any Jeep dealer parts dept should be able to get them but it would help to know all of the parts that are necessary.

This example is so subtle, not really noticeable with the dark colors. But I think the dark colors need more something to spice up the front, so all the new webbing and texture helps it pop. The brighter colors already have contrast so they pop without the needs for additional texture. CHEERS

This is a ‘24 with the factory installed winch. The lower lip on the new grill is a different design. Looks like there’s much more room now.

I could not find info on the instructions and I am no expert so here are my thoughts.

The 24 grille is way better in my opinion if you like more air flow and I have a diesel.

you must make some cuts to remove the two bars you can see on the body color insert, just make sure you use a rotary type tool.

you can reuse all hardware from the old grille on the new one.

I love they way the 24 grille looks- I see the old one in the garage and I think it's dated now.

I used common sense.
This is what is behind the grill.

So increasing the width of open airflow will have much less impact than the increase in the restriction of airflow vertically.

The new grill is shorter and even includes another trim piece on the bottom to further block air from going below it and through the radiator. The design of the JL grill is misleading as the outer 2 slats don't really have any substantial airflow going through them. So the only advantage of the new grill vs the old for the middle of the grill where the radiator is mounted is the removal of the 4 bars that separate the middle 5 slats.
