Hello,

I could not find info on the instructions and I am no expert so here are my thoughts.

The 24 grille is way better in my opinion if you like more air flow and I have a diesel.

you must make some cuts to remove the two bars you can see on the body color insert, just make sure you use a rotary type tool.

you can reuse all hardware from the old grille on the new one.

I love they way the 24 grille looks- I see the old one in the garage and I think it's dated now.

Although I first thought the 24 grill was hideous, I admit that it is still growing on me. The all black grill like yours looks much better than the the body color surround one, and the fact that you have a high mounted bumper with winch guard and a winch, hides what makes this bumper so controversial, which is the ‘’dead spot ‘’ at the bottom of it that sandwishes the vents up higher, making it look like the renegade grill.

I think the better airflow argument is total bullshit.

The airflow argument is real trust me, I have had both next to each other and way more air can move though the 24 grille

Dirt Road Cred did a video on the '24 grille swap and it was a direct replacement without the need to cut anything.

****EDIT - I see now that the OP had to put the new grille together. The one in the video was already assembled. ****

Nice, it is a good looking grille on some colors, and added customization options are always a plus. I would take one in chrome, if they ever offer it.

Meh...

I already have a Renegade, so I'll keep the '21 grille on my Wrangler.

But the '24 grille does look good.

The new grille may look nice and allow more air to reach the condenser / radiator PUT

Here is what I discovered and what I am working on
This is how the cooling system works or not working
The thermostat opens at 190 degrees
The cooling fans comes on at 1/4 speed at 221 and will only go fulls speed at 231 degrees
I have been trying to get control of the cooling system by adding a pusher fan on the condenser put this is what I found
Most cars including the jeep JK the condenser is mounted 1/4 to 1/2 in. from the radiator
On the Jeep JL the condenser is about 1 1/2 in. away from the radiator
I can get the pusher fan to shoot air though the condenser at 150 MPH put as soon as it hit the radiator the air blows out the large gaps between the condenser and radiator and NO air going through the radiator
Next step was to close the caps between the condenser and radiator to force the air through the radiator
So now with the gaps closed off I have about 15% of the air going through the radiator and the rest of the air is blowing back though the condenser and trans cooler
Two things wrong here. The gap between the condenser is to large and the radiator WILL NOT allow free flowing air to pass through it whether you are pushing air at 150 mph with a fan or diving down the road at 60 /70 mph and that is why you see a 40 to 50 degree swing in the coolant temps. You would thing driving down the road you are getting air passing through the radiator put you are getting very little to none until the fan kicks in and sucking the air through the radiator
I ordered a Mishimoto radiator (back ordered) it looks to have a more open core that will allow more free flowing air to pass through
I will install the Mishimoto and see how it goes
And NO. The radiator is not plugged in any way inside or out side. The jeep did this from day one . New in 2020
The Engineers got this one wrong

How does the flow compare to the old grill with Gladiator inserts? It would seem they would be close if not the same given the Gladiator inserts are at least twice as open as the Wrangler (the new grill is not growing on me):

I would probably do the gladiator inserts and keep the same look. While I like the styling of the new grill (grew on me over last few months).. I dont like the reduced height (squished look).

I did the JT grill swap last year and unfortunately haven't seen any noticeable decrease in engine temps. At least it was a cheap, easy and reversible mod, but based on that experience, I doubt the '24 grille will result in lower engine temps.

Thinking back to my old CJ and TJ, I'm actually considering doing away with the inserts altogether, especially since we don't have insect issues like I experienced when living in the southeastern US. Even then, the JT inserts really wouldn't protect against the swarms of love bugs anyway because they're so wide.

In any case, the '24 grille is starting to grow on me, but probably not to the point where I'll swap mine out. Glad that OP and others are enjoying the new look, and I hope to see more of these on the road soon!
