School me on Control Arms

Trying to get a better understanding on control arms.
I bought an already lifted JLUR. I know it has a LC drop which if not mistaken keeps factory arms.

The same company has another lift that just replaces the LC rather and using a drop bracket. What's the benefit of the drop over replacing them or vise verse.

Then I see Metalclaok has a radius long arm?? What does that do over just a normal long arm kit?

Drop brackets create better control arm angles resulting in a better ride. Just replacing the lower control arms will help with caster but do nothing for arm angles. Traditional long arms are much better than radius arms as there is binding in the suspension movement with a radius arm. Aside from ease of install, radius arms don't offer any advantages over long arms. Personally I'd keep the drop brackets and possibly upgrade the control arms if you want adjustability, extra strength, and better joints. If you want the ultimate in clearance and flex, go for the rock krawler long arm upgrade, but you have to be comfortable cutting mounts off and welding on brackets.

So keep the drop brackets and add long arms?
I live in Alaska so not going to MOAB anytime soon but I do plan in hitting alot of trails for hunting. I don't foresee needing to flex out a huge amount but I also like to be prepared for anything.

No long arms, keep the drop brackets OR long arms. Unless you need the ultimate in performance, no need for long arms in my opinion.

Agree with Zach, for your intended use, brackets will work fine……this is what comes off your rig when switching to long arms, unless you go to a bolt on kit….. but I’m old school and don’t believe in bolt on….?

Same pile for a full Metalcloak long arm bolt on kit. All the stock sheeit needs to come off. LOL
