Nope. This will be the worse year for JL’s if history is any guide.

First I've heard of gorilla glass might be nice but not worth waiting until 2019 for that.
I'm not really fond of the idea of BSG myself so want to get my order in before the July 19th cutoff for 2018 orders.
Where did you get that date confirmed? I am ordering mine and was planning on doing it in the next two months, thanks for the heads up!

It’s always a toss up. After reading the replies, you can see why. It really depends on what trips someone’s trigger. Frankly, it could bring a premium, as this model/year combo will have a lower production total. Years down the road, rarity could be a driving force.

On the flip side, there could be so many JLs out there that no one wants the limited selection for a first year run.

It’s all speculation and 99% of cars are a depreciating asset. You might see a bump here and there, but most people will never buy a car to tick it away in a garage and wait for a solid return (myself included)

Lower production and rarity doesn't always add up to value. Nobody is paying a premium for the one year only 2wd Wrangler.

Wait- you shouldn’t pay more for less of a vehicle? Dang it, my chart was upside down. Oh man, the wife is going to be pissed...

I recently made an offer to a dealer with a rare option/year/model/trim/color combo. He refused because "there's nothing else like it out there". It's now been six months and its still for sale. It's capable and rare, but apparently not enough for anybody else to pay extra for including myself. Tomorrow's JLs will be better than today's unless they really mess it all up.

You will take it in the shorts in the end. This isn't a Scrambler or '40 something flat fender. It will depreciate significantly. It's not like they only made a 1,000, 10,000 or a 100,000. Now, our 1982 Toyota FJ40 will at least hold its value over the next few years 'cause there were limited number imported.

I'm editing this. You might come out on the good end, if you had a very early VIN and you parked it in your garage for a couple of decades. Them you might make money.

If Jeep is sold to China motors then that might make 2018s more valuable... not rooting for that though :lipssealed:

it was in one of the timelines the admin posted I think, as far as I know it hasn't changed.

4/11/18 UPDATE: 2018-2019 MY Changeover (Fleet)

2018 MY Fleet Order Cutoff Date: 7/19/18
2018 MY Build Out Dates: 10/27/18
2018 MY Final PSP Dates: 095
Estimated 2019 MY Order Acceptance Date: 9/13/18
Estimated 2019 MY Job 1 Date: 10/29/18

I probably shouldve worded the title differently. I more so meant do you think it will deprecate faster than past jeep models in a similar timeline.
