Jean, who did you order from?
Hi Theresa. I ordered from my local dealer, Criswell Jeep, Gaithersburg, MD. My salesperson is fantastic. I've purchased 2 Wranglers from him. Patrick Mantua. [email protected]
I believe there are some (slightly) better deals to be had but I wanted to purchase locally.

A coworker's wife wants to order a Compass. Anyone know if these dealers offer the same on non-Wrangler orders?
Thanks!

Just to update on Clutch Auto, I contacted them this week and they are 8.5% below MSRP with Tread Lightly. Dealer fee is $444. You can travel and pick it up or they will help find you a delivery service.

Does anyone know if Gupton offers below invoice pricing on the Grand Cherokee or Wagoneer? I bought my Wrangler off of them this past spring and it was a great buying experience. TIA

Thanks to Ratbert and this thread for letting me know what type of pricing is possible! I ended up going with a place in Houston (being from Texas) that will basically do employee pricing if you have an affiliate code. They just charge standard doc fees, etc., but no "processing fee". I didn't have to do financing, and it was just $200 deposit to place the order. I was told they don't like to advertise this, but if anyone sends me a PM, I can provide the contact info.

I have purchased just a few new cars in my lifetime so I can use a little education here… I assume the invoice is the cost the dealer pays the factory for the Jeep which is different (less than) than MSRP. How does a dealer make money selling below invoice cost which to me would at a loss to an out of town buyer that will neither be financing or using their service department? Are there other fees that get tacked on to make this a profitable transaction?

MSRP and Invoice prices are going up while dealer discounts are going down. Gupton Motors deal is looking even better right now.

@Ratbert Koons deal downgrade for your spreadsheet.
Especially since their baseless fees component is comparatively low.

As to some of the others, it’s ridiculous to claim X% below invoice and then charge a fee (or require financing at a higher than best-market rate) that amounts to a surcharge of 1% to 3% of invoice. I really appreciate dealerships that don’t engage in games to create the appearance of a better deal.

You are correct, if the dealer was paying invoice for the vehicle they'd lose money on below invoice deals. It is my understanding that in addition to other possible incentives they have a 3% hold-back on Jeeps where the manufacturer will "kick back" some money to the dealership for selling the vehicle.

My guess is the below invoice dealerships rely on selling a large quantity of vehicles to make money whereas the MSRP people rely on uninformed customers. An example of this would be my father who refuses to shop online and instead will only buy from a nearby dealership.
