Have our 2023 Sport Altitude presently on order. Had to draw the line somewhere on the optional packages when we ordered it. Passed on the LED Headlight/Fog Lamp package for $1200.00. Wondering what is involved in replacing just the halogen headlights, with updated LED lights? Not concerned about the fog lights at this time. Does Mopar sell factory replacement LED headlights, or do I have to go aftermarket? Thanks.

Look at the "Lighting" section on this site. Plenty.of talks about this subject. There have been a lot of improvements and lower cost LED lighting systems out there recently. Good reads.

While there are a lot of options, DV8 (one of the more expensive ones) looks the closest to OEM LED headlights.

Some folks have gone the route of just replacing the halogen bulb with an aftermarket LED bulb. It's a much cheaper option than replacing the entire unit.

My advise to anyone wanting LEDs is: get them from the factory.

You will find that after you are done buying the aftermarket LEDs, laid the new wiring, done the necessary reflashes, dealth with the sneaky Cam-bus issues and ensuing tweaks, and ordered the last set of resistors...you saved very little money.

I would offer a real life experience counterpoint.

I won't debate, ordering from the factory is the best way to go. The issue of course, is value.

I spent $160 to fully retrofit mine. That is a savings of ~$1,000

I think the big question is why, in 2023, is LED lighting not standard equipment on vehicles averaging $60,000? ?

You can get the Oracle Oculus BI LRD lights with the white halos for under 600 bucks, they are true plug and play replacement for halogen factory lights. I swapped them in my Gladiator in about 15 minutes and have had zero issues with them. I'm sure Oracle will have some kind of deal for Black Friday coming up to.

The beamtech LED bulbs are going strong for me still, the halogen reflectors seem to work well with simple LED replacements. Cutoff is a little fuzzy like the OEM leds compared to oculus stuff.

it also only cost me $60

I have to counter and say that this is not the case if someone purchases a quality set of aftermarket LED headlights specifically designed to replaced the factory halogens. Oracle and other manufacturers make LED headlights that are nearly plug and play, aside from having to wire the halos. No flash is required for these to work. I have the Oracles and the entire install took no more than 15 minutes. I paid less than $600 for the pair at the time. I'd say that's a fairly decent savings.

My, real world experience, advice: don't buy crappy LEDs and save money over OEM. I ordered the Oracle Bi-LED headlights, they are plug and play with the factory harnesses unless you want the silly LED halo. I didn't want the halo so it's not done. They installed perfectly and I did not have to adjust them to level. So I actually saved some money and got the same functionality. Even replacing the LED bulbs in the DRL and turns will still net savings. I gutted my fenders so that whole module is gone, I can not recommend AAL at this time but there are some other companies making fender chop kits.

. . . realizing each day–
Realized before delivery that LED's were the better path, ordered OEM in November 2021 from our dealer. Still on back order. Most recent estimated date: December 2022.

Maybe its time to kill that order—

I did DV8s on a previous Jeep when supply chain issues were going on. No issue and they look factory. My Tazer JL set the appropriate bulb type and that was it.
