Jeeps lots of jeeps
Appreciate the feedback, it does help….I’m actually running 37 ridge grapplers. So impressed with them, I wanna keep running nittos. I’m trying to get some feedback on MTs road noise, wear, etc….

I’m gonna put in 4.88s as soon as I can get a few days off work, they been on the shelf for a couple months now….. …. 38s are as tall as I wanna go…… later on I may do tons and 4Ds but that’ll be a while if at all…. The ridge grapplers are only 35-3/4 measured on the jeep, so going to a more true 38 will be a good 1” to 1-1/4” in ground clearance…….
Thanks man…..
I haven't ran them, but I saw a set on a jeep and jumped out to measure them. They were 37 even mounted.

The Milestar and Nitto tend to be an inch under stated size when mounted, which is better than most brands which are 1.25-2.00 less.

The only tire that I have seen measure stated size, or larger actually, were Super Swampers. Their tires are BEEFY!

I ran mine with stock rubi gears for most of the time I had them, and then probably the last 2k with 5.38’s. I’ve now stepped up to 40’s. Even as worn down as the pics below show they still never started howling and up to the last 500 miles still tracked straight. Since I just redid the tazer for the new tire size I was able to see the original height I had set was 36.62in and that was done by measurement and eventually by adjusting tire height to match gps speed.

Wow that tread pattern reminds me of the old Goodyear MTRs I use to run on my '04 TJ Rubicon

I searched the first 20 pages, figured that’s enough do diligence, lol….. 38/13.50/17 is what I’m interested in……..

Anyone that’s running them Id like to know what they measure on the Jeep at 30 ish psi. Do you like them, pros/cons noisy on road or not , etc……….Thanks
Hi Roky,

Did you end up getting the 38" Nitto Trail Grapplers?

I'm working on my build for later this year and keep flip flopping between these 38" Nittos or go the more common 37 inch route with say a MT BB AT or MT.

Hey bud,
I haven’t switched tires yet, these 37 nittos RGs are refusing to wear out, lol…the wife knows just enough about jeeps that I can’t convince her that these tires are worn out and need replaced..🤣 my newest dilemma is which width to go with…..

Haha, I hear you!

Here in the Northeast we get muddy conditions so I'm leaning towards the 38/13.50/17 Nitto Trail Grapplers on a KMC Grenade Beadlock wheels with -38 offset.

My main issue is that the tire is heavy at around 90lbs.

I run 37 Trail Grapplers. Love them, measure out to a true 37"s. On trail they handle the diesel's torque with ease, really have to get into the gas to get them to break loose once they're aired down. On road you definitely get the buzzsaws, nothing crazy, just enough to coax the baby to sleep.

I am noticing a little faster wear on them then I expected. I need to actually measure them out to quantify.

Great feedback thanks! I had 37" BFG KM3s on my previous JLUR 6-speed. Had very minor "buzzsaws" so if the Trail Grapplers are roughly in the same ballpark I'm good to go. Just got to make sure its wife approved lol.

Love that they handle the diesel torque that hits even harder then my 392 down low and have great grip, which is what I'm looking for.

I'm still running the stock small KO2 35's and on a trail run last summer there was a muddy patch and no matter what I tried it would not hook and just kept plowing straight

On the wear, what PSI are you running and how often do you rotate?

I'm on the MT BBAT 37s now. I think they're a great tire. Nice compromise for road or trail. I don't mud, so I can't comment on that performance. But on dry rocks, dirt, sand, I've been very pleased. Since I use my JL around town too, road performance and noise is a consideration.

Recently, (since @3TV went to 40s) I've been considering going to 38s or 39s. 39s don't have many choices. 39 KM3 BFGs are outside my willingness to spend. In 38", the Falken Wildpeak RT has my attention.

I try to run 38 psi on road but for some reason they always settle around 40 psi. Not sure what causes that but it's been a consistent thing. I'll fill to 38 psi by a digital gauge and the onboard gauge, drive around and I'm at 40. No idea.

Off-road majority of the time is 18-20psi as I'm running desert trails with fast washes mostly.

Rotating at every other oil change so about every 7-10k. I do all 5 tires too.

@3TV is also one of the reasons I'm considering going above 37s lol.

MT BBAT are a tire I'm consistently look at, wished they made them in a 38.

I have also looked at the 39 KO2 and KM3's but agree with you that their prices are a bit silly. They are between 100 and almost 200 more per tire over the 38 Nittos.

I did look at the Falken RTs in the 38s but don't really see any feedback on them.

My use case is daily driver here in the Northeast which includes snow onroad and offroad I get everything from rocks, to sand to mud (which I try to avoid if at all possible)
