What is an unpopular opinion you have in the Jeep community?

Honestly, I struggle with the 4 door Bronco regardless of trim. I always feel like the combo of front and rear doors is too long and too tall to the beltline.

Bronco is over-styled, over-complicated and, sadly, under-executed.

I'll take a few shots at it :

- Twits trying to convince themselves and others that their JL on 35s or bigger are totally fine and drive like stock without a regear, and then turn around and tell people how to properly build their Jeeps. to me they loose all credibility.

- Too much negative offset makes a Jeep look like it's obviously running wheels that weren't designed for it and also look like the body is sitting on a trailer form the back.

- Those that judge a modified Jeep because it is at the Mall..... I'm in South-Eastern Canada and most streets around here are more beat-up than a lot of what you call trails in Colorado.

- Angry grills..... Nuff said

I find myself tempted by the Everglades. I like the subtle changes to the fenders, and how its pretty much my Sahara build plus 35s.

Now I doubt that I'll ever get to drive one though with Ford's backlog.

Your jeep may be cool (or not), but that doesnt mean you are. Having a jeep doesnt make you special. Modding it doesnt make you special. It's a vehicle, or (for some) a hobby, or both...it's not your identity or personality or sexual equipment.

I get it's a jeep and you should take the doors and top off, but c'mon its 105 degrees in TX, I know you are suffering in there.

Once it gets above 100 here in Vegas, I leave the doors on. Left work yesterday and it was pushing 109, I saw a couple of women in a JL with top and doors off. Braver than me, also not very often I see women jeep drivers with top and doors off.

So you're aginst naming jeeps, but what about using terms of endearment such as: baby, sweetheart, love of my life, love muffin, pumpkin?

I want to meet the owner who calls his JL “love muffin” and shake his hand. That level of ballsiness demands respect. ?

That winch mount on the Everglades makes me cringe lol. It sticks SO FAR out the front. It looks like a JC Whitney cheapo bolt on.

I'm also not a huge fan of snorkels, Jeep or Bronco. But, I do agree on the flares - having the flatter top portion of the flare looks better IMO. Most of the Bronco panels are just larger and bubblier than I like, and having completely round flares adds to that.

That winch mount on the Everglades makes me cringe lol. It sticks SO FAR out the front. It looks like a JC Whitney cheapo bolt on.

I'm also not a huge fan of snorkels, Jeep or Bronco. But, I do agree on the flares - having the flatter top portion of the flare looks better IMO. Most of the Bronco panels are just larger and bubblier than I like, and having completely round flares adds to that.

Maybe it's more how they got the offset, with it looking like a clearly added on thing. With the Wrangler, while I'm not a massive fan of how far out the bumper sticks, the winch is still within the bumper. It's just like a bumper on a bumper with the Bronco and it just, to me, screams "Crap, we forgot about how a winch mounts".

How’s this for a controversy:

Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night, gasping for air and mumbling “I should have kept my 2015 JK...!”

I definitely should've kept my '16 JKU Backcountry and not gone through the '22 order fiasco that resulted in no '22 & a new BMW. Though I'm really liking the BMW, still would like to have the JKU back.

Okay I agree. One would think they would leave room behind the bumper for a winch like they do with the Super Duty.

I've been jumped a few times for saying I think a modest lift and 35" tires is the sweet spot for performance increase vs cost. This is supposed to be a safe space though, so don't start with me ; )

BTW, I’m not jumping.

Personally, I find Wrangler’s sweet spot is 33-34 inch tires, and no wider than 285. The Jeep looks great, well proportioned; and the handling remains close to stock.

By the time you get to 35s, the added unsprung weight starts to show in the handling and in the ride. Steering response slows down considerably and the ride harshness. Rocks hit the sides of the Jeep; your MPG plummets to the low-to-mid teens. If you have a non-Rubicon, then you also have to regear.
