99.9% of HiLifts stored externally are for decoration.

Dirty edit: and 78.934% of HiLift owners have zero clue on how to even use one. I especially like seeing them on vehicles that literally have no spot to use them. Granted, it can be used as a winch as well but they don't know that either. Lol.

While "mall crawlers" with angry grills suck, I also really hate what I call "rock humpers" - 6" lift, 40s, thin little fenders with body armor and bumpers that look like they were welded together in someone's garage.

IMO they both look stupid*

*As the title suggests, this is just my opinion. I fully support people's right to make their vehicles look as stupid (or awesome) as they want with their own money. As long as YOU think it looks good, my opinion of your rig is irrelevant.

Sahara Sidesteps don't get caught on rocks.
True, but that doesn't make them look any less like old man running boards.

And yes, they're still on my Sahara.

Ah you're just jealous because I don't need to haul a step ladder for my wife....
Lol, nope. I actually have a set for the winter I just picked up used. I just won't wheel with them.

I'll have you know my spouse can easily bounce her ass into the jeep. ;)

They don’t look any worse than mud flaps.

Either way, I’m an old man so it fits...

The XR model feels more unstable with higher speed highway driving. I have an XR and wouldn't trade it for anything, I love it. But long and higher speed highway drives can be mentally taxing with the higher profile brick on wheels. You really feel the crosswinds, the curves, even heavier humid air at high speeds. Can be a taxing mind game just driving the XR at high speed, trying to avoid the roll over picture in the back of your mind. Again, I love it, wouldn't trade it, but would really think twice about driving it long distances.

I LOVE driving my JLU w/ the 3.6L and 6 speed manual MUCH more than the wife's 2.0L/850RE!
