I am going to get ahold of a salesperson at Dave Smith’s in Kellogg Idaho this morning and see about a hybrid new one or a Sahara. I’m not ready to give up on the other one, but I am growing skeptical.
Good for you on this. BTW Carmax use to have some very nice low mileage vehicles still under warranty. Not sure how they are operating now with the short supply of everything.

Didn't read all three pages, but depending on the power train, both batteries need to be replaced if original.

When I sat down with a dealer today, when I was finished with the package it was 58k. Dealer said they sell at MSRP. ALso, the pita was it was different to option out similarly, due to model body/package changes for 2022.

The unit I am looking at is 41 and all it didn’t have was 1.5k worth of the options I added. So it was very nicely loaded. Also, It had less than 27k in miles.

I’ll go online in the am, and see if I overlooked anything and maybe try again.

Where can I maybe order with better discounts? Man, I’m all over doing it if it’s not way more $$$. A little is not an issue, but almost 18-20k might be.
Im in Idaho.
There's literally hundreds of posts recommending dealers and how to order below invoice. Start here...

I sold high end cars for 15 years... I wouldn't buy a car or Jeep from Canada. You could have rust issues, potential emission issues, title issues can come up. Also, when you go to resell it down the road, a lot of people will pass on it as it will be on the Carfax that it was from Canada. I would pass.

I wouldn’t own a modern vehicle without some sort of warranty.

No matter how American, iconic and retro Wrangler looks; it is loaded with modern electronics. Fiat electronics at that.

Good luck.

I've got my sights on an 18 JL Sahara and i'm not sure what to do. Buying through a dealer that does not sell Jeeps, rather Chevrolets.

The Jeep originally was sold to Canada. Now, it’s back to US and certified to be here. —all is good.
But with only at about 6000 mi/year and sitting at 26k miles, this is where the unfortunate part comes in. There is ZERO warranty coverage from Jeep, and I cannot buy a warranty from Mopar either. (no 60k power train warranty obviously)

I forgot to add. There are two Recalls not done and a couple already done:

Open recalls:
V41. JL steering dampener
(Steering wander or pull)

Y95. Stiction steering assist
(High speed in cold wx)

Completed Recalls:

Canbus recall

Rear qtr window recall

Is this a big deal to you?
oooooooooo I LOVE sharing my opinion!!!!!! Especially when it offends someone. hahah

Pass on it. The vehicle is obviously overpriced because of the current market and to pay MORE than you should for a vehicle with no warranty, that's crazy. Order a brand NEW Jeep, take the money that you would be spending on your monthly payments and save it for 7 months until your order comes in. What's your payment, 400? That's an additional $2800 you have down!

Now, if you just plan on ripping it apart to make a rock crawler and replacing every part anyway, warranty doesn't matter. Go for it and rock crawl in that Sahara leather style. :sun::jk:?

i'd pass for all the reasons already listed.
also, who doesn't get their recalls done? makes me wonder; what else didn't they do?

follow the guidance in the link kj11 posted, starting with signing up for Tread Lightly to get the guaranteed 1% below invoice and start your 30 day wait.

spend that 30 days spec'ing out *exactly* what you want and calling around to the dealers you're willing to travel to and pricing out the build that you've come up with for a custom order that is what you really want. wait however many months it's going to take for it to be built, and be happier for the years you will likely own the vehicle.

I didn't like they would not cover anything that had to do with "The mixing of fluid contamination". That could be oil cooler leaks that end up in the radiator. That is like a highly likely repair on the 3.6. That would mean the plastic piece gets replaced, but all the places the oil would go would be on my dime to flush, or replace the sensors affected.
That is exceedingly rare.

why would you get a recall done if you aren’t having a problem? As for the steering stabilizer, I’d put an aftermarket one on and send Jeep the bill.

We are going to pass on the Canadian unit.

Currently, we are in discussion and build process of a '22 Wrangler 4XE. With the $7,500, its kind of a no-brainer. It will cost more, but I really think we are going to be a 100% better position for the $$$ we spend.

Petersons in Boise, to be exact.

I will absolutely give credit where credit is due. If it were't for THIS fantastic Website, we would never even had thought that a new one was possible. The selling points off MSRP and finding out about the Fed's $7500, AND the help with the super kind folks who chimed in.....this would not be happening!

if there's a Recall, it's a known problem.
no good reason why anyone should wait on getting a free fix for a known problem.

as for sending J**p a bill for an aftermarket part, send away!
good luck getting anything back.

I know you said you’re passing on it, but for future reference you could always look into mechanical breakdown coverage through your auto insurance instead of an extended warranty.

Dude I do this for a living. Plenty of times there are no parts available and they will reimburse the cost of the recall. Ram 2500/3500 drag links are popular. The dealer will just weld them. Ford is good about it, we do a lot of their brake booster/master cylinders.
