For the steering damper, they changed mine while I didn’t have a problem with the original one. If you’re gonna spend to change it, there’s your opportunity to upgrade to a fox or Teraflex unit.

I don’t even know what that rear quarter window thing is.
Thanks about Fox.
I too had no idea about the 1/4 panel. Probably not a recall at all.

I didn't like they would not cover anything that had to do with "The mixing of fluid contamination". That could be oil cooler leaks that end up in the radiator. That is like a highly likely repair on the 3.6. That would mean the plastic piece gets replaced, but all the places the oil would go would be on my dime to flush, or replace the sensors affected.
A used jeep at the dealership I got my new one from comes with a 7-yr bumper to bumper warranty that's better than a new car warranty, not zero warranty.

Rear qtr window recall
That's supplemental (to the owner's manual) printed instructions on the proper way to install the side windows on the soft top.

Fidelity used to underwrite auto policies. As a local Jeep dealer if they can offer you a non Mopar one like "The Mechanic" for example.

If you gave the price in this thread, sorry I missed it, all I saw was "$4K below market value." I don't know about where you are but over here what dealers are calling "market value" can literally be the original MSRP on any used JL.

I've been watching (and test drove) an 18 Sahara. It was a few dollars under $42000 and had about 35k miles. I can order a brand new Sahara with more options (and exactly how I want it) with the discount dealers listed on this site and pay around $46k. Sure, I would have to wait a few months but to me getting it exactly how I want it makes that well worth the wait.

That Wrangler is now down to just under $40000 but that's still a ludicrous price, shortage or not.

When I sat down with a dealer today, when I was finished with the package it was 58k. Dealer said they sell at MSRP. ALso, the pita was it was different to option out similarly, due to model body/package changes for 2022.

The unit I am looking at is 41 and all it didn’t have was 1.5k worth of the options I added. So it was very nicely loaded. Also, It had less than 27k in miles.

I’ll go online in the am, and see if I overlooked anything and maybe try again.

Where can I maybe order with better discounts? Man, I’m all over doing it if it’s not way more $$$. A little is not an issue, but almost 18-20k might be.
Im in Idaho.

Oh hell 41 man that is sweet actually. Everything on a Wrangler can be upgraded! remember that. If you like it with a few pieces missing you can upgrade it for sure.

I'd only buy it if it was a great deal if not I'd pass. Have patience and do your research, you'll find a better deal and it'll have the manufacturers warranty.

I bought the lifetime mopar warranty and if I had to do it again I'd probably not buy it again. I just don't have the freedom to modify the jeep the way I want and not void the warranty.

Next time I would just save like $100 a month and put it in a separate account and use it for maintenance and if I ever need future repairs.

I am going to get ahold of a salesperson at Dave Smith’s in Kellogg Idaho this morning and see about a hybrid new one or a Sahara. I’m not ready to give up on the other one, but I am growing skeptical.

Personally, I would keep looking. The newer the vehicles and the more computers involved, the less than can be repaired by the average DIYer. Generally speaking extended service contracts end up not being needed over the course of vehicle ownership, however, going back to the previous point all it takes is one computer-related repair for the service contract to pay for itself.
The reality is this (I see this all of the time on extended warranties). You have to read the fine print. Most are garbage as they never cover the real things. Then they will send out an adjuster to give their price on what it should cost. For example we had a car come in that needed a job that was going to cost $1700. Extended warranty said it was to be $1200. Thus, the customer either had to pay the difference or have it towed elsewhere. Thus, the customer had it towed to another shop and guess what, they were going to charge within $50 of what we were. As for the dealer, it was going to be $2500. It ended back with us and we fixed it. This was 2 weeks of frustration for the owner and could have been fixed in one day.

On a side note, the computers in vehicles are very reliable. It's the components they operate which fail.

Your talking about buying a vehicle and hoping nothing goes wrong, or buying a vehicle and when something does go wrong, hoping that your 3rd party extended warranty covers it. I have been standing right next to people at the dealership, and watched the service manager tell them "No they will not honor their 3rd party warranty". Not to mention extended warranties usually require that you lay out the cash for whatever repair, and they take whatever time they deem necessary to to reimburse you. Ultimately, it sounds to me that you are trying to force something that is not meant to be "for you" right now. The high risk here is, you may end up over your head looking at a monthly payment and a repair payment at the same time. If I was you, I'd go looking for a much older jeep (like a TJ or something like that), and spend my time and money customizing the crap out of and repairing that.
