Does it do a decent job on a Wrangler tho with the fenders and tire sticking out?

That’s not that bad, at least you didn’t drag it across the road with the back wheels locked while tensioning a winch line. Stupid auto park ??
I did the same thing when tightening my winch line. Do you get around it by putting both the transmission and the 4 high low gear in neutral?

I'm glad you asked the question because last time I drove an automatic wrangler it was a '99 3spd. I don't remember having to apply brake to shift from N to D, so it's good to know incase I happen to get an auto jl.
No you don't need to press the brake to shift from neutral to drive, just go from neutral to drive.

I live in an area with enough salt on the roads to eat a vehicle in a day so I have an unlimited car wash plan and get my jeep washed every 2-3 days, sometimes daily. I have 37s, beadlocks with a -38mm offset and have no problems going through a car wash, and always at the end shift from neutral to drive without using the brake just like any other vehicle I've driven with an automatic transmission.

I found out about auto park by opening the driver door at 10 mph to spit after brushing my teeth enroute. Imagine my surprise when she screeched to a halt and my head slammed into the door trim. Yea... real safe.
Pretty sure auto park only engages if you don’t have a seatbelt on as well, so if you’re driving while brushing your teeth, trying to open a door while moving and not wearing a seatbelt, I think the vehicle might be doing you a favor with a little head knock…….. :)

Ok, I'll make sure to put foot on the brake but i think i do anyhow.
You don't need to press the brake the shift from neutral to drive. Just shift from neutral to drive.

I pretty much never wear a seat belt. So you are right about that.
