I just picked up my Jeep from Guptons in TN and drove back to AZ. I've been reading my radio manual and I'm trying to figure out why I want Sirius. The dealer set it up and that's OK but after just a few days I feel like it's like cable TV - 100 channels but nothing is on. And I think there is an extra service for the vehicle to use on an app on my phone that was included. Why do I want to look on an app in my phone?
It seems like everything on my phone for audio I can bluetooth to my jeep. I have Amazon for music and have a few good stations I've made over the years. Maybe I can put Amazon music app?
The only thing I can thing of is the magic button "Tune to digital 22" would stop working.

I don't like picking my own music or requiring an internet connection for services, so Sirius works for that use case for me. Then again, I'm not overly picky on music.

Each station plays the same old songs over again on rotation for several weeks. Even the weekend banter on the music stations gets repeated, plus they talk too much. There are only a few channels that play deep tracks or emerging artists. On non music channels you will be overwhelmed with commercials.

I believe Sirius Guardian is the service in the Uconnect app that lets you remotely lock, unlock, and start your Jeep. I am a big fan of this because I can start my Jeep while I am waiting to get off a plane, finishing up in a store, or any other time my key fob is out of range.

I personally don't see the point of any other Sirius service unless you are on a 10+ hour road trip and forgot to download some podcasts.

The only benefit that I found was access to music when I was in an area with no radio reception or cell service. That said, I let the subscription drop as I have an old iPod with a descent amount of music.

Otherwise I agree, the repetitive music on the stations as well as their penchant to play obscure songs from artists was annoying. It was like listening to a tape back in the 80s and trying to get through most of the album to hear the songs you actually liked.

AT 40! I enjoy listening to Casey Kasem on 70's on 7 on the weekends. It takes me back & they play songs you rarely hear anymore. I'll also usually catch a handful of NFL games each year while I'm driving or working in the garage. That being said $240/year isn't cheap.

They always runs specials, right now it's $6.99 a month for a year. You can probably find even better deals.

I enjoy electronic dance music (EDM) and I find Sirius/XM to be good for that. They have multiple channels to choose from, and don’t just play the usual rota of chart toppers. They often have live DJ’s mixing on air, and on location at clubs and festivals around the world, which I think is pretty cool. They usually broadcast live from clubs in the evenings, have studio mixes from guest DJ’s, and are always on site at Ultra Music Festival and other major events every year. So at least if that is your thing, it’s pretty good IMHO. ?‍♂

I also enjoy PGA Tour radio ⛳?️‍♂

It depends on what you like to listen to. I'm big into sports talk radio. The app let's you listen outside of your car, so I stream the Jim Rome show at the office every day.

All you have to do at renewal is reach out to them and tell them you're going to cancel. They'll make you a lower offer, you politely decline, then they'll "check with their supervisor" and come back with a reasonable price. I've been paying $60/year for the last 6 of 7 years doing this. I can't believe anyone would pay $240/month, but I guess thanks to those of you who do so the rest of us can get it on the cheap!

I agree with the above, SiriusXM can be annoying, but I like having the option because I don't like having to plug in my phone every time, and I also don't like my phone being hooked up to bluetooth. It seems like sometimes Sirius is rockin, and other times its terrible and I plug in my phone for Pandora.

That being said, I have it because every year I negotiate it for roughly $100 for the year, and if it was any more I wouldn't bother. I don't know if I get the NFL channels though.

Yes, definitely negotiate at renewal time!

I keep it because it’s still better than local radio. the stations I listen to I can almost predict the next songs though. I do like the weather maps and info although on the Jeep it sucks not having motion radar.

I wouldn’t pay $240 for it though. Every time the subscription comes up for renewal I call and tell them to cancel it. They transfer you to customer retention and reduce it to $99 a year or less. I’ve been doing that for probably ~10 years since I started using it again.

I really enjoy listening to the regular radio ;)
I get to change stations constantly due to the crazy low range of today vs yesteryear or possibly just the crappy antenaes we have now
I get to listen to some moron think he's telling a joke and laugh at it even though no one else over the age of 8 thought it was funny
I get to listen to one commercial after another for junk no one could ever want in the hopes that perhaps eventually they may actually play a song and it won't be some forgotten b-side
Or I can listen to paid radio and have pretty much all b-sides or clearly public domain crap. I remember they had Playboy radio long ago which sounded hot until you turned it on and listened to an ex bunny talk about baking a pie or the trouble with airline food.
Too bad our new '21 RHD Wrangler didn't have the Sirius option even offered so poor me
I have to stick with thousands of real songs on flash drives
Yeah.... too bad ?

I pay $10 (+ tax) a month for service in 2 vehicles. You can get it down that far if when they call you to renew after your trial period you keep telling them no. That's what I did at least. I've had that price for the last couple of vehicles.

I also stream via Amazon Music, though where I live most cell providers don't cover very well, which is why I keep Sirius. At $5 a month per vehicle, it's worth it IMHO for the variety.
