I am in Need of Steering Stabilizer Brackets. (1.5 OD Tie Rods)

1) I like how the Metal Cloak Attaches The stabilizer to the bracket. But it is not available for my 1.5 OD Tie Rods. (Only 1.625)

2) I currently have synergy, but the way the bolt just screws into the bracket is not that Heavy Duty. Mine has already failed. But it fits the 1.5 OD Tie Rod.

What's the best (heavy Duty) relocation bracket kit available for JL Steering Stabilizer?

Can I just use the Metal Cloak with 1.5 U Bolts, and modify the holes in the bracket just enough?

What has worked for you?

What axle side bracket are you using?

I have the MC on both ends (the aluminum one on the tie rod), and the bolts are angled specifically to match each other.

As you’ve probably seen with the synergy, the Axle side bolt is just an extended TB bolt and puts the stabilizer really close to the tie rod.

I Noticed that. :) I have the metal cloak on the side, and synergy on the tie rod. I didn't realize the shop did that installed my synergy tie rods did that, and I know that the angle was a factor in the failure.

Now that I am buying something, and getting under the jeep, I might as well make the best choice I can. LOLS.

I have been running Synergy on both ends for 30K miles with zero issues first with the OEM stabilizer, then a Fox 2.0 IPS, and now a Fox ATS.

I am curious as to how the Synergy bolt failed.

The MC stock JK one is 1.375". May be worth a call to see if MC has a recommendation.

It's only a 1/16" difference in radius, so if the 1.675" won't work, maybe a bushing would work to enlarge it enough to catch the billet one.

I'm interested to hear how it failed as well.

When I swapped to the MC axle side, I still had the Synergy tie rod mount. It's a significant angle and I ordered the MC TR side the next day.

I was thinking about swapping to the MC axle side, but seeing your photo ?

Is the MC tie rod mount drilled at an angle?

Yup, both the aluminum and the steel one the OP posted a picture of are built at the angle.

Gotcha - all MC or none. I bought Synergy when MC had the cheesy steel clamp. I wish the new black one was steel as well.

Fox and synergy I’ve had no issues with either one……I’m also running 1.5” tie rod .

Definietly. I'm surprised I don't have a picture of the synergy TR mount with the MC axle mount. That bushing did not look happy.

Wow, the EC stabilizer is a lot skinnier than I expected.

Based upon that photo, I would say it was "ill-tempered" to say the least LOL

The failure was for 2 Reasons..

1) Metal Cloak on the side, and Synergy at the Tie Rod... Geometry was off.

2) The bolt came loose (I probably should have use thread lock, and checked it after a few hundred miles). The threads in the synergy Tie Rod Bracket got stripped because of bolt being loose

I was planning to replace the bracket sooner, once I noticed the MC / Synergy Mix. But didn't follow up soon enough.
