No it will break anyway. Probably cheaper to get 50 dollar deductible on insurance. Could replace 10 windshields for the cost now. I didn't even think 200 was worth it.

Yeah I generally wait till later Spring to replace mine, will be broken. Especially in winter with all the gravel put down in parking lots for ice. Then don’t set your mind at what others say. Jeep windshields are brutal for getting broken due to the fact they are so straight and flat. If you get a year out of a regular Jeep windshield you are doing good. I finally gave up changing them on my last rig after the last windshield went only a month before it cracked across the whole width. The longest I’ve ever gone on a new windshield was 6 months before it cracked. Like I said if the gorilla glass goes a couple years then it’s worth the money.
Yeah last time I was in Georgia some nice interstates! Clean and smooth.Personally I wouldn't. Maybe I'm lucky, but at 22k miles on my JL it still has it's original windshield.
Time will tell.....I hope you did not jinx yourself. How in the world are you guys breaking them in a month!!? Lol
I get that they are flat, but how many rock hits do you take??? Do they have a gravitational pull or something?? Magnetic?? ?
I don't think I've had a windshield replaced in my lifetime, although I have got a few chips.

It was available for the JK but I am not sure how durable it was? This topic makes my head spin - some love GG, others hate it lol
Apply some PPG Aquapel. It is like RainX but a lot better and longer lasting. Makes cleaning the windshield a lot easier. So far so good with my Gorilla glass.
I will say in term of insects the wrangler windshield is second to none in collecting smashed bug carcasses. Gets nasty fast on a hot summer day, and they seem to dry out and bond instantly to the windshield
I know this is an old thread. I'm adding photos of my Gorilla Glass one week after purchasing my new Gladiator to illustrate the point. I will be replacing with standard OEM glass as I did with my Wrangler JK.No it will break anyway. Probably cheaper to get 50 dollar deductible on insurance. Could replace 10 windshields for the cost now. I didn't even think 200 was worth it.
Steaming pile of dog crap. Corning and Jeep should be embarrassed to make this an option. Seven months after I picked up my Jeep and I just had the windshield replaced. I chose a regular OEM windshield. The price was $200, but has recently jumped to $500 (from memory) for the gorilla glass option.
How are people liking these windshields? Worth it?
