I don't think you can. As it is open to the passenger area, the Gov't doesn't mandate an inside release like it does for trunks.

There are a few posts on here of people drilling and attaching a string to make a handle. Good for camping out of the Jeep
This is what I did to my last rig when I was camping inside.

It's going to take one person to get stuck in their Wrangler. Almost starve or dehydrate. For Jeep to start putting in a door handle on the inside of the tailgate. ?

... not realizing they could just open one of the doors.
People have died in their Corvettes not realizing they could simply remove the targa top AND that there is an emergency door release handle located right next to both seats. If only there were something, maybe made of paper, in the glove box that explained all the features of the vehicle…

The Corvette I could understand. I had a 14' Stingray. People didn't know the button on the handle was to open the door and I would tell people about the emergency release latches. It was just about every "new" person.

I would still rather be in a Vette than a Camaro. Now those windows are extremely narrow. No way to get out if your door is jammed.

As the owner of the vehicle, one should know how to operate all facets of the vehicle. This is why before my kids were permitted to drive they had to have read the owner’s manual, show me how to operate all the functions and features of the vehicle, how to check the fluids, how to change a tire, change the battery, etc. My younger two will have to do the same for all our vehicles. I’ve already downloaded the owner’s manual for our ‘22 Wrangler that hasn’t been built yet so I’m familiar with its operation & features before I drive it. There honestly is no excuse for not understanding how your vehicle operates.

But as stated it wouldn’t surprise me if someone got stuck in their Jeep, as sad as that is.

Just use your fire extinguisher or high lift jack to bust out the back window, reach out, and pull the handle? ?. This assumes you will be running topless going forward. ?

Putting my jeep in the enclosed trailer is a hassle. have to bungee the rear window down so it clears the trailer celling but not close it so I can get out! because u can’t open the doors in the trailer. Stupid design. my 79 bronco , K5 Blazer had an inside latch, all my Toyota 4runners also.
