Did a quick search and couldn’t find anyone else posting about this. I noticed on my 2021 JLUR with the one-touch top that it has these extra seal things that seem to keep the water from dripping in when the door is open. It’s on the two front doors. My 2020 (hard top) doesn’t have this. Is it a one-touch specific feature or is it the 2021 fix?

I don’t believe it’s a fix for the gutters on the hardtop. It’s probably just to drain water that gets into the top mechanism. All vehicles equipped with a retractable sunroof have similar drains installed behind the interior body panels.

I mentioned this in another thread a couple months ago when we picked up the 80th edition. We have a 2021 80th with a hardtop(dual top) and a 2021 Rubicon with the SOT, they both have the new channel and a different front windshield weatherstrip. The weatherstrip has felt material on the corner edge near the top of the door and freedom panel, this is probably to slow down the water so it hits the channel. Not sure how well it works yet for the water dripping onto the floor but we will see.

On a side note, it does cut down the wind noise from that area significantly from prior years.

If it’s on all of the tops for 2021 then it must be a new weatherstrip design. Interesting...

The channel is a separate piece from the weatherstrip and mounts to the sport bar.

Yeah...looking at diagrams, maybe it’s the A-pillar trough?

Anyway...the reason I say I don’t believe it’s a fix for the water dripping into the interior when the door is open is because it doesn’t appear to stick out far enough to catch the water from the rain gutters...but maybe it does...always hard to tell in pictures...

There is a change in the weatherstrip design which is probably to reduce the flow of water which would allow it to go into the channel. I will take a photo later to show the new design.

Pretty sure the following are the part numbers for the channels (troughs):
68453376AA - Right
68453377AA - Left

Windshield header weatherstrip - 68271695AH

Definitely NOT a 2021 fix. I have an 80th edition JLU with the premium soft top and when it rains down here in Florida, which is every afternoon, you can see the water pouring down the side of the window and when you open the door, its a waterfall into the Jeep!
The extended rain gutters that Arterius2 suggested have horrible reviews online about them not sticking well and flying off at highway speeds.
The ventshades I put on helps push the water more forward ahead, because of the angle, but still drains inside when you open the door.

Now these are something i hafta buy!!! that stream of water just pissing onto me and into my Jeep when it rains is annoying.
Not sure if what I linked is the best one, just search for JL rain gutter extension on amazon and you get a few different options.
