So...there is this one mud pit at a trail I frequent that is always full of water and really deep. There is a bypass and I use it 100% of the time. Yesterday, it was pretty dried out and I gave it a shot. Turns out that the drop in is pretty nasty and I was almost immediately on my diffs, rear LCAs and shock mounts.

Of course it was the one day that I forgot to switch on the kill switch for the winch, under the hood. It was quite a balancing act jumping on the bumper, opening the hood and walking across to the passenger side to flip the switch. The winch pulled me out in a couple of seconds and I was on my way.

I was concerned with the size of the only tree available but it held fine.

Winches...something ya never need till ya do!
I used a Warn Power Interrupt Kit and wired it to one of my AUX switches.
That seemed like a really smart way to wire it yesterday....lol... Part of my pre-run routine is to turn the darn thing on.

The first 2 things I always install is a winch and on-board air.

Exactly! Removing the Zeon 10S and ARB Twin W/Grimm mount from my '20 Ruby 2-door and installing them on my '24 Ruby X 2-door (with 35" tire package :)) when she arrives...

I used a come-a-long for years, then a portable winch,, finally on my JL I installed a permanent mount which. (cause m getting old and lazy?). Ya don’t need’emoftern, but when you do need one, you need it badly?

every rubicon should come from the factory with one said:
Well ya still cannot get the winch option with the Ruby X 2-door with 2.0 Auto (35" tire package) but you can get it on 2-door 3.6 Auto (but no 35" tire package) and you can get it on all 4-door models either with 2.0 or 3.6...and both of those come with the 35" tire package on X trim...WTH Jeep?

Onboard air is such an overlooked mod. Dont need to go crazy with the arb twin underseat 4 wheel systems (which are fucking awesome and well worth the money) just a good compressor and pressure gauge is plenty.

I'd rather crawl on my hands and knees through a mile of broken glass than get stuck in the mud.
