What do you think caused this? I had a Pedal Commander start accelerating on me recently it was crazy! All of a sudden the check engine light came on and the Jeep started accelerating. I had to throw it in neutral and hit the brakes. I removed it right then and there. Not saying that is what happened here though. If this is a repost, my bad just delete it.

I would think Banks would be driving a killer V6 Diesel or paying someone to drive it for him

Holy Crap I just watched the video because I thought it wouldn't be anything special, well proved me wrong.
Why not yank the e brake and hit the stop button or throw it into neutral and kill the motor or just plain neutral and let the motor kill itself, would have been a cheaper fix then all the carnage that was done

I know it`s easy to yap out why didn't you do this or this??? when sitting behind the keyboard but I know it's a different feeling behind the wheel. That lesson I learned 40 plus years ago while using a single throttle return spring on my 340 Challenger, and after shitting myself in record time to realizing what happened to turning the key back to the point it locked the steering wheel lucky for me God was watching over me and we made it out without a scratch, just new underwear and scrubbing the white vinyl seats lol

There should be a clear shot of the driver at the end of the video but you can't see who's behind the wheel. I can't tell if it's smoke inside the cabin or if it's been intentionally obscured... If I had to guess I'd say it's either:

A.) Intentional.
2.) The driver was experiencing a medical emergency of some kind.

There are a shit load of videos on youtube of peddle commanders specfically going haywire and doing things they shouldn't be. It's because they aren't wired properly and sucking power off the peddle circuit itself and causing malfunctions as a result.

Personally I think Peddle Commanders should be pulled from the market along with any others that don't have their own power source and use the peddle circuit for power. They are flat out dangerous.

Looks like the windshield is tinted and the clouds are reflecting off it. ?‍♂

There’s no way this happens to the extent in this video. Every road vehicle ever made has brakes that are much more powerful than the engine.

Literally all you have to do is slam the brakes to stop this. It’s more likely the driver panicked and as is very common, kept pushing the accelerator more thinking it was the brakes.

Could be. But even from a distance as it approaches and at different angles I still can't see a driver, but I can make out the silhouette of the passenger seat. It's odd. If I didn't see the driver's side door open at the very end and somebody roll out I'd think it was some stupid remote operating experiment gone wrong.

That's the airbag prorellant.

That looks like driver error combined with panic. At the 26 second mark you see the hard impact with the ground. At that point the airbag likely deploys, knock the driver's hands away from the wheel. In the ensuing panic, the driver doesn't even think to brake, too much is happening.

Good video. Not the usual jerky attempt that misses the end result.

Zero points for driver who did not simply knock the shifter into neutral as stated above.

I vote for medical issue or shear incompetence.

Looks like airbags deployed... first passenger side on the first hit then driver at the end?
