did you ever get yours replaced?
did you have to do the "inspection" appointment first?

(if there are contaminants found, they're going to need to replace a lot more than just the pump,..)

Has anyone had their HPFP successfully replaced via this recall?

I called my local dealer today and they said that I need to bring the Jeep in for an inspection to test the fuel. If the fuel has contaminants in it, they'll replace the fuel pump.

Aren't they supposed to outright replace the pump as a proactive measure? I'd rather not wait until it fails or until it contaminates the fuel in the middle of nowhere before I get it replaced.

gotta' beg to differ:

we've seen P/Ns for the pumps, and P/Ns for the kits (Contaminated vs Uncontaminated).
the old Pump P/N appears to have been superseded with a new P/N.

do you have any definitive detail that the pumps are unchanged?

Recommendation to everyone you can ignore if you want. The pump is identical, unless they did some 0.01% increased lubrication on one component or something inside, its unchanged. Same part number, just shows different in the recall because it’s a kit not just the pump itself. With that, if your trucks fine, run it till your concerned, then schedule an appointment. Recall’s dont expire, wheter you go this month, or in 10 years, you still get a free pump replaced, or if contaminated from pump failure, you get an entire system, lines and all. Again, ignore me if y’all want, but that’s just what I would personally be doing

Part number for the Injection pump is still unchanged and has been its current supercedence since 2/14/22. Part number is different in the recall, because its a recall part, this is normal for many recalls. As far as details its unchanged, if you get to look at the 2 person, you can see theres no difference in anything including part number stamping etc. Everyone wanted to argue “just because you dont see it dosent mean it didnt change” in me showing the clutchs for the 19A recall as well. So you can decide which pool you want to fall in with that. But as of right now, if you have the recall performed, then need to replace the pump due any failure after, the part you would order is the same part that was available before the recall.

So they are replacing the pump with the same pump and telling NTHSA/Customers that they fixed the problem? That is pretty evil and stupid after their fines over cheating with the 3.0 reached nearly a billion.

The pump has been modified from the old design. It's a new generation of the same family of pumps so it's a bolt in replacement. The internal parts have been upgraded to handle the low sulfur diesel mandated in the US now.

I suspect that the pump was changed in 2022 and the new one had to be tested before they finalized the approval for the recall. They would have started using the new pump on the assembly line at the time without knowing yet that it was a final fix or an interim one.

The CP4.2 has always been in place for the JL/JT Eco-Diesels, the CP4.2 is going in again

There are multiple versions of the 4.2.

I can also say the pump part number is not updated since recall release
That likely means that the pump change released in 2022 passed testing to be used in the recall.

If you have knowledge of such a thing, can you state when those began being used on the assembly line? Mine came off the line at the end of June, 2022 and has been recalled, 01A.

If that where the case, why recall vehicles with that pump?
