After being told I’d have to wait a year in Colorado to get my Z96 recall done, I took matters into my own hands.

Here are the part numbers needed to complete the work according to 2 dealers.

First 3 I found in store.mopar.com

68631088AA Pump $631
68211320AA Tube gasket $2.42
68211212AA Intake manifold gasket $9.62

68524869AA Tube kit - Moparpartsoverstock.com $215

FCA confirmed they will reimburse me for parts and labor is free at any Jeep dealer.
Good luck!

Have they inspected it to verify that it's not already toast?
I had it inspected today…all they said was “yes you need the replacement, but you are ok for now”.

Then they told me I’m 56th in line and they are get one part set a week. I asked for parts list and verified with FCA recall department and went and found them online.

pity anyone should have to go through this.

things i gotta’ ask:

-did the Recall Parts Dept confirm in writing that they would cover your cost on the parts?
-did a dealer confirm that they would do the labor for no charge to you?

and (the big question inquiring minds want to know);
-did anyone say what the difference is between this new pump and what we’ve got already?

Not in writing. I tried but they said “we don’t have ability to send an email.” Ok…. But they do have a reimbursement link in the FCA recall page and assured me it would be paid. After 60 day review. I’m willing to roll the dice to be safe, I don’t like the idea of a sudden stall.

-did a dealer confirm that they would do the labor for no charge to you?

Yes. 2 separate dealers did

and (the big question inquiring minds want to know);
-did anyone say what the difference is between this new pump and what we’ve got already?

I couldn’t tell a thing.

My dealer has my pump and gaslet waiting for me. They are still waiting for the tube and label. Inspection says only pump needed.

I know when I had my pump replaced which was about 3wks ago the dealer had to do a pcm update which failed which resulted in the dealer having to replace my pcm. In all took a month for the install.

Was the update unrelated? My dealer said the process for the pump has no need for PCM update and I won’t be allowing one if they change their mind.

If the pump already blew up it wouldn't run.
It will start to shred and fill the fuel system with metal shavings before it blows up.

I guess every one we have had come into the shop is either fine or already blown up and totaled.
That's why many shops inspect it before attempting to schedule the recall. Definitely a different procedure if it's already degrading.

Yep. It doesn't take long between initial problems and total failure. And likely doesn't start showing symptoms until right at failure point.
