Right, I’m saying you should be able to use this with aftermarket lockers like an ARB no matter what axle they are in. You said z automotive said these wouldn’t work with aftermarket axles.
I’m not an electrical engineer. Not sure exactly why the ARB or an E Locker doesn’t like the pulsed signal vs a constant signal.

Currie says it won’t work and will void the warranty if used.

Well I wouldn’t use an e locker. ARB is the only locker I’d buy aftermarket.

For what it’s worth, I recently swapped to Currie axles and investigated this as well. I spoke to Currie directly and they adamantly said not to use the z auto/similar device due to it being a pulsating current or what not. I ended up wiring to Aux1 and AUX2 for the lockers. I run a compressor and some lights so I’m running an spod for those. Yes, it would have been nice to retain stock switch, but it’s just as good on the aux switches

I think what we are questioning here is why Z automotive would manufacture and market a harness to do exactly this (oem switch with aftermarket lockers, whether in a d44 or d60), and then later identify in an email to you that they do not have a product to do this.

Something isn't adding up. And presumably AMW is using this to connect UD60 E lockers up to oem switches without problems.

I’ll give them a call to verify if that’s true. Thank you. That would really help.

I have dynatrac 60s with the elocker and I have been using the Z-Locker Controller for years. I don't recall having issues with them engaging/releasing.
What switch do you have them wired to?

This is the part that is confusing. Z Automotive sells two versions. One is to overcome a factory differential sensor failure and the other is directly designed to allow an aftermarket locker to communicate with the factory switch. It clearly states that in the description. I have heard others mention like the above post that they have had success using the adapter. I also don’t understand why the other manufacturers aren’t saying the same thing. Especially Eaton, who doesn’t mention it anywhere on their site.

Exactly and why is only Currie saying it won’t work. What about Dynatrac and Dana? (Doubt Dana would say anything)

I've run 4 Eaton E-lockers myself. I wheel with a bunch of people and at least half a dozen of them have Eatons front and rear. They all work great.

The only reason don't have on in my truggy is that Eaton doesn't make one for the Dana 80 yet. I talked to them at EJS this year and they're working on releasing one maybe next year.

ARB makes a damn good locker and I put them front and rear in the truggy. I had to install a compressor so that overhead is covered for the front and at that point the cost of Eaton vs ARB for the front 60 is a wash.

For my money Eaton and ARB are both great options. Probably a couple of good options beyond those.

Just don't waste your money on an Auburn ECTED or whatever they renamed it to now. Those are junk. Even new, it didn't fully lock the rear in my JK on 35s. After about 10K miles the clutch packs were so worn out it didn't even limit slip.

Yeah I’ve heard good things about the Eaton. I just know from experience that the ARB is bulletproof and I always run a compressor so it’s a no-brainer.

I've had a portable Viair compressor that has served through 4 Jeeps in the last 12 years or so and a different portable before that. To me, the flexibility of a portable has been the ideal.

The tires for the truggy mandate faster air than the Viair can supply so it was time to do on board air. Between that and the lockers I've had to change and I'm running my first OBA in over 20 years of Jeeping.

Yeah I used to run a York on my old Jeep before battery-powered tools were relevant. Now all my air tools are buried in a box somewhere.
