Did you go with just the spring spacer or did you do the lift with new spring etc?
Spacers for now. Plan is to swap springs and shocks in future. Already swapped out front lower controls arms with RK adjustable to get caster where I want it and both (front and rear) track bars to center axles.

This is somewhat old thread and I'm a total noob to lifting jeeps. I was thinking to add 1" spacer front and back to my XR to fit 37's for a temp lift. With such a minimal lift would anything else need to be done? My XR has about a 1" rake stock and I'd like to keep the rake since I do overland quite often. Any info would be helpful.

you MAY need to mess with bump stops still. That's kinda the direction I'm leaning for this year. I just bought mine, and I'm trying to not mess with it too much, cause I think it rides freaking sweet. BUT I really want 37's on it this summer. I did get the metal cloak .5' spacers for the front for now. They are basically 4 thinner shims that add up to .5" and you can fine tune the desired lift (good for when the jeep is not level side to side as well). you can get them for the front and back. I was waiting till I got a winch installed to see where I need to be. but I still think overall I need like an inch maybe inch and a half, then adjust bump stops as needed. THEN I will end up doing a full lift and shocks.

Do you have 37's on it now with just the spacers?

Here is a 23 JLU Willys XR 2.0T plastic bumpers, tow package , factory 315.70.17 tires with 0.5" spacers front and rear. Drives straight and true.

And I have the Mopar LCAs up front.

I have done a lot of research for my incoming 24 XR, I also have 1in front and 1in rear spacers waiting in the garage and plan to run 37's for off-road. From everything I have found you will need to have a total of 2in of rear bump stop extension in the rear (stock XR rear bump extension is 1in) but the stock XR front bump stop length is correct for the 37's. I purchased the Mopar 2in rear bump stop extensions from the Mopar 2in lift because they are cheap and plan to put them on in the rear with my 1in front and rear spring spacers.
I am also going to throw on teraflex's 2in shock extension as a cheap way to gain back some down travel that will be lost with the 1in spring spacers.
Last but not least I also have the Mopar 2in lift lower control arms waiting in the garage to go on with the spacers to get the caster angle correct. These are also pretty cheap, so with the spacers, rear bump stops, shock extensions and control arms I should be in it right at $300 for an additional 1in of lift (to help keep the front XR bump stops off of the axle) an additional 2in of down travel, properly bump stopped for 37's and have my caster angle correct with the added lift.

How much would castor be changed with the 1" spacer do you think?

Caster shouldn't change that much from a 1in spacer but the fact that the XR package with it's 1.5in lift doesn't come with the mopar extended lower control arms means it already has less caster then ideal. The Mopar arms would even be beneficial on a stock XR. So the fact we are adding lift to an XR makes the Mopar control arms a no brainer.

How is this setup treating you? Have you had a chance to wheel it yet?

adding the extra inch pushes you up to about 2inches, are adjustable track bars also necessary? I wonder.

I've not wheeled it yet as the Jeep isn't even built yet lol it is hopefully scheduled for production this week or next!

lol got it! I got my ‘24 XR last august. It kicks ass. I may jump ahead of you and try out your parts list but I am guessing a track bar and rear bracket may be necessary.

Instead of the teraflex extenders I was also wanting to consider longer shocks. Do you have any idea if we can run 28” long shocks without worry about driveshaft woes, or is 26 the reasonable cap?

I am trying to maximize my XR lift before jumping over to a game changer, and trying to avoid a aftermarket driveshaft while under warranty (at least for now)

How are you doing a 1" rear spacer? I haven't found any 1" rear spacers for my JLU. Link please?

@Jeepjoy Sorry, I never saw your reply. Nope I'm still stock 35's on it. I wanted to go the winter before I changed anything. I'm also picking up my winch this month or next month, so that will tell be where I sit on sagging front end. While I do not think my Jeep sits as high as other stock jeeps, I've never really been in the bump stops. and I've tried to get them to hit LOL. Having a 392 is a love hate relationship LOL.
I can NOT justify a full lift at this time, so I've been going back and forth on different spacer lifts.

Added a set of 1" terraflex spring spacers, and 1/2" to the rears this last weekend based upon this thread. Also did Fox 2.0 shocks at the same time. All I can say is wow what a difference. I had already installed the longer MOPAR control arms. I had the alignment checked and caster came in at 4.9 after the spacers so I think thats livable. I have a winch on the front that I added to the stock steel bumper package. That dropped the front end about 3/8" inch initially. Jeep sits ever so slightly rear high, but as soon as you load it with much of anything its level. The Whole suspension just seems to "work" better. Flex is much improved along with ride quality with the shock upgrade. That extra 5/8" inch under the front bump stops really helps the bottoming out issue with the XR package. I wouldn't mind having more but this suspension set up should work just fine till its our of warranty and I do a full blow lift. Seems like it should work well for a weekend warrior type offroader.
