The rivets aren’t required. I did it with some spare nuts and bolts, but rivets would be easier/more secure. The Bolt option is well regarded. That's what I installed on my Jeep.
Note that you'll need a rivet gun capable of handling the provided 1/4" rivets.
I had considered doing the same, but...The rivets aren’t required. I did it with some spare nuts and bolts
Same ones I bought.
I bought the locking gas cap off Amazon and keyed it to my fob.My wife and I are retired and we take a lot of road trips in our Jeep. We don't want to be stranded somewhere with a disabled Jeep or no Jeep. Insurance doesn't help much when stranded.
Like @ScotM, I have a multi-faceted approach to engine bay security. I have locking hood latches (visual deterrent but not too secure), the Taser hood alarm (audio alert), and the Lasfit Stealth Hood Lock (physical lock).
FWIW... After using it for a couple of years, I can honestly say that the Lasfit hood lock is a great product. It works with the Jeep's key fob and and the grille remains stock.
Also, @Lasfit customer service is top shelf! I had an issue with the hood lock's manual pull cord. Customer Service was very responsive, helpful, and patient. Problem solved!
Hey Jeep, it's 2025! The Wrangler needs a locking hood and fuel filler door!
