Everybody knows that '29 is the next gen. And it's obvious that the face of the Recon, Cherokee, and that 715 concept they took to EJS is the face of the next gen Wrangler. What we're trying to figure out is will they follow the Bronco's massive success and the Wrangler's eviction from Europe over safety concerns and finally ditch the solid front axle? Or will they soldier on with the true military heritage? If they go IFS, the guys on this forum will start burning cities. The NY Knicks riots will look like baby food.

I'm not sure what you mean by "already traveled". The Ramcharger was supposed to be released in late 2024. None of that lineage has hit the streets yet. And definitely not in a Wrangler.
True, but the technology is close to being deployed according to Stellantis, supposedly in 2027, but stellantis says maybe late 2026 which is doubtful. Will it happen for the initial launch in the new Ram 1500 rev or future Wrangler? That’s uncertain at this time of course. But my point is it seems to be the direction Stellantis wants to “travel” and has “traveled”. With the issues with the 4xe in my opinion it’s a gamble for the Wrangler; Jeep owners, new and especially enthusiasts will be skeptical at first. So I’m sure the bottom line in terms of dollars spent on engineering and deployment plus the “enthusiasm factor” projected and real will probably determine any future projects and launches. But, my point was they are already it seems, to be dipping their toe into that water with a Ram launch soon….or not. Who knows? My personal opinion is it’s iffy for the initial launch that there will be many takers; I base that solely on the initial projections for the Gladiator which competes in a crowded mid size truck market; Ram will be up against similar winds in the full size truck market.

Depends and that wasn't the point of my reply. You're literally carrying around a 600 pound, 3.6l gas powered generator to power 400lb of electric motors and change the 1200 pound battery that you charged at home to start with. The damn thing weighs like 8000 pounds with twice the fire fuel and multiple ways of burning as Stellantis products are known to do. If I needed a work truck that never left the pavement maybe. My F150 had over a 600 mile range, but it only made 400hp and 400lb-ft of torque, but it didn't have all that crap including the damn near zero ground clearance from the electric motors.
Exactly. Give me a compelling pure EV or give me a compelling gasoline EV. Don't give me any of these trans vehicles that try to mix the two. They are the most complex vehicles on the road as they have all the complexities of an EV, PLUS all the complexities of a gas car, PLUS all the junk to marry/manage the two.

If you prefer a traditional internal combustion engine (like the 3.6L Pentastar V6 or 2.0L Turbo) mated to a mechanical 6-speed manual transmission, you should look closely at the current model years. The 2026 and upcoming 2027 two-door Rubicons represent the peak mechanical refinement of the traditional gas-powered Jeep era.

Wait, are you implying the 6-speed is not the peak mechanical refinement? That's heresy!
